Is the XB stock exhaust universal? For example, if i bought a stock XB12scg muffler, could i put it on my XB12R?
Im gonna buy a stock one online, have it shipped to randy at hawk, then when it comes back, switch it out and send my stock one to drummer, whichever i like better is stayin on the bike.
Anyone see any problems with my plan as far as the difference in the XB models?

No, but the 9's are lighter and do not have an active valve. Better for modding since they are lighter

should not be a problem at all. i sent my stock 9 muffler to Randy and just put it on my XB12Ss last weekend. it does save a few pounds. pretty sure drummer and hawk both take the 12's valve out or make them inoperable.

I like the idea of the valve and would rather keep it for street riding where I dont often bump the rev limiter. I read that you look some midrange by removing it.

I have a Hawk modded 9 muffler on my 12Ss. Never lost any midrange at all. Gained some if anything. If you put on a Jardine you will lose midrange and bottom end power compared to a stock 12 muffler. Been there done that. Even the Hawk 12 muffler does not use the valve.
