Stolen Bike..........Rant !!!!!

Before anyone assumes the worst....My baby is safe at home. This is about my bestfreinds stepbrothers bike. His bike (06 CBR 600) was stolen in Shreveport a few days ago. He started blowing up everyones phone & facebook sending out text & messages to keep an eye out for his baby. Fast foward 3 days.....Now Im being told to drop it....He dosent want anyone to post or talk about it. Do you think the cops would tell him to keep quiet or do you think somthing else is up? I dont know what to think.....I hope it the cops saying to stay quiet and not him......I wouldnt think he would be in on it and that its an inside job.

That does sound strange. Maybe he just doesnt want it back and knows the insurance will get him a new bike. Hopefully that is the case.

Not sure myself..........He was trying to sell it awhile back, but he said he changed his mind because he couldnt let his baby go. He acctually turned away a cash deal standing in his driveway. I do know that there are some pretty bad areas in Shreveport so mabiee the cops are onto somthing ( chopshop mabiee).

That sounds weird! If any of my bikes were stolen i'd use every outlet at my disposal to notify people to keep an eye out . Maybe he's like O.J Simpson and he wants to solve it on his own.

Sounds like maybe he has a lead on it and wants people to be quiet so the person who has it doesn't catch on? Hopefully he gets it bad, or at least gets a new bike. I love the 06 600rrs

ive been there too. mine was stolen may of 09. since i didnt have full coverage i was screwed. then to my surprise last november the cops found it and i got it back though it was spray painted black all over and wrecked. to top that off they never caught the guy so i ended up having to pay $500 to get it back from the garage that towed it for storage fees.

Been in the same situation: My truck was stolen I called the police which my brother and all my friends are also police officers. Here in San Antonio. so I had an immediate response. I told them the same thing dont look for it because i figured it was trashed. and knowing my friends they would probably get into a chase. then it would be really trashed. its not worth fighting with the insurance company on what is totaled or not. its easier to wait the 30 days and let the insurance company pay it off. plus stolen vehicles are not a high priority for police departments. regardless of what they tell you. They eventually found my truck about 8 months later on a traffic stop. They did not charge him with theft. he was charged only with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. its easier to charge.
