Store Gas Cap While Fueling?

You guys ride with a gas cap?? You havent lived until you ride without one.

One of my friends had a crappy 92 GSXR back in 2003 or so. He had to push start it every morning, had half the plastics and would vapor lock hard in the summer here in Vegas. He decided one day to keep it from dying out on him to ride with the gas cap open. He came home stinking of gasoline. So I can say I've experienced the aftermath of this. It sucks waking up early every day to help your roommate push a bike down the street.

just be thankful the poor sap didn't have a pickup truck! I sit mine(gas cap) on my saddle bag/side case key in it

mine sits perfectly on the clutch and control cables

as for sitting on the bike while filling her up, i always thought it was better for topping it off completely

Had that happen with a friend that was renting a room from me. He had an old Toyota truck that constantly needed to be push started. I also had to drive across town on a lot of occasions to pick him up because of it constantly breaking.

So when you guys hit the head, do you shake once or twice? I mean I always give it good thrashing for 15 secs...but you know how it goes....No matter how much you dance, the last drops will be in your pants.

I put my gas cap with key in it on the seat. No problem.

Gassing up while sitting? That has never occurred to me in my four decades of riding.

I just stab the pump handle through the frame and ride off when it starts pouring out ... I don't even bother putting the pump handle back ... I've got quite a collection of pump handles built up in my garage ...

I use a snowboard leash as a keychain, which in turn is clipped to my clutch cable. when I take off my gas cap, i just let it hang off the side of the bike near the left intake.

I have my keys on a d ring and just let it hang on the clutch cable or levers when fueling.
