Straight pipes. Youtube sound.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77u4KgWw9Sk dug this up on youtube. Video sux but sound is there. I'm sure I will get lots of haters but Ive been interested in straight pipes for a couple years. I've seen one other setup like this. The guys had baffles tho and it sounded descent. It has to be cheaper than most custom built mufflers. Im not into pulling wheelies or doin 150mph so I think i could live with whatever losses may occur.

replace torque and HP with noise and lots of it. doesn't seem like a reasonable trade-off to me.

I just put on a Hawk muffler and I absolutely love it, but I had a straight pipe on before when i bought it. It was slightly louder than the hawk and a little more low and gutty sounding. I actually loved the sound and didn't really notice too much of a power loss because of it, but it was poorly mounted and ended up breaking. I also had too many warnings about the long term damage it can do to the engine.

What are long term effects of this in the comments he says the bike corrected for it but can the bike really handle that?

Harleys run with open drag pipes all the time. Doesn't fit this kind of bike though in my opinion.
