The other day a guy on a Cherry Red translucent 12S and his buddy on an old hard tail Harley were in a parking lot at an Irish pub I frequent. Well the guy on the HD couldn't kick start his bike, just would not fire. I walk up to them wearing one of my Buell shirts and ask if they need a hand. The guy with the Buell just looks at me, then my shirt and says nothing. I ask about his bike, no real reply. His buddy is kicking and kicking but seems real cool. I tell them him if he needs a bump I'd be glad to help and then head back into the pub. This Buell guy was the first prick on a Buell I've run into.

Having said that I would have stopped for most riders broken down if I didn't have to be somewhere real important.

First off I'd like to say.. I'm a clown.

Secondly, it was gas... however, my fuel light never came on? I thought it wasnt gas cause i could still hear some in the frame.

walked about 2 miles, someone finally picked me up and got some gas.

On a side not however, you guys here at buellxb are awesome. This is by far the most friendly forum I have been on. The bmw K forum is a turd, I love the bike, but all the people are pinheads.

I'm on Kawi and Suzuki boards too, and while the guys are pretty cool, they are not as active as here and the sites are not set up quite as nicely.

i Know harley had issues with ethanol fuel scrwing with the sending units on the v-rods... use different gas than normal?

Off- or on-topic? Recently picked up my 1st Buell, an '08 XB12Scg w/ 19k miles. Dave got me thinkin with his fuel pump comment as to how long can I expect the fuel pump to last before it craps out? Should I plan on replacing it before it leaves me stranded? I don't mean to thread-jack

Bad sensor on the Fuel Pump assembly, will have to have new pump. Or, or just watch mileage and reset to 0 every fillup.
