Hey everyone its been a while but I was wondering if anyone could give me some advise on how to strengthen the fiberglass full fairing kit that I have without ruining the paint job I just put on it I was thinking about maybe putting some resin on the inside but if anyone has any other suggestions i would be very grateful

Go to Lowe's or a boat retail store and get some 2oz mat (chopped mat), some resin a gallon or so, and hardener. Resin alone will not make it stronger. Sand down the back side with 50 grit or better (rougher) sand paper until there is nothing shiny at all and the surface is scuffed well. Lay the class down in the area you want to reinforce and cut it to shape. Then mix the resin at 3 to 4% hardener to resin.Wet the glass out well until all the white in the glass is saturated with resin. You can pick up a glass roller at the same store or use a felt paint roller to roll out the air in the glass. Make sure no resin is pooled up but also make sure the glass is fully saturated with resin. A few other things you might want to pick up are some Quart cups and mixing sticks. Tong depressors work well, a 2" cheep paint brush, some heavy rubber gloves the thin ones don't last long. and a gallon of acetone for cleanup and some rags.If you need a more detailed list of things just let me know.
This is a mold but the concept is the same.Just skip the wax and gelcoat (paint) step.

Yes, the glass is whats going to give it the strength. Just scuff it real good and I mean real good and wipe it down or blow it off and add the glass. The more glass you put on it the stronger it will be. It also adds weight so dont go too overboard.
