I just changed the oil in my 06 uly for the first time since it's purchase a year ago and the drain hole striped . I don't think I stripped it as I was using a torch wrench and could only tighten to ~20 ft lbs before it gave way. My guess is that it had been overtightened by a previous owner. Anybody know what the next step is? Do I have to buy a whole new frame or what?

Just get it re-threaded (re-tapped). If you are not mechanically confident, take it to someone. Shouldn't cost you too much. I dont know the bolt size off the top of my head.

take your drain plug to your local auto parts store. have them match it to an over sized plug that has whole in the center and a smaller plug.install the main plug with permanent locktite you will use the center plug to drain oil after that.other option is to drill and helicoil drain plug hole your self or take to a shop.

Thanks guys, I just bought an over sized 1/2" plug from napa although I think I could have used the double over sized plug. I didn't torque it down as much as the shop manual says to but it's not leaking oil so I guess it worked.
