got an 2004 xb12r bought it about 9 months ago with 4200 miles....didnt need anything when i bought it but i chnaged the tires, brakes, and fluids for safe measure....after riding and putting it inside i got to tinkering with it and taking it apart so i could learn the bike and do some little touchups here and there...(new turn signals, new head light bulbs, new instrument cluster....shit like that) so today i was changing my rear turn signals (whole assembly) and realized some screws were missing and some were completely JACKED like someone put the screw in sideways and sheered all the threads...my question is what if anything can i do to fix this...there seems to be a brass insert where the threading is on the tail frame of the bike[confused] that look like they maybe are removeable or something......but i dont know...i dont have a manual either so im currently in the process of printing that off...thanks in advance for everyone who has been helping me in the last few days with my questions....

Where's Lesley when we need him!!??

He's probably sitting in a corner in the fetal position whispering silently, "I told you not to use a torque wrench on the drain plug!!!!!"

ace hardware, home depot, lowes, grainger, white cap are some places to look for rivnuts...look in specialty hardware areas...if you can find them there, go here for them and tool needed for it, two locations, one on the east and west coast...Corona location is 25 minutes away from me

your best bet would be to revive the thread about rivnuts. Then the people that had that issue will surely chime in

^thank you i found a guy who is a buell tech who lives near me who is going to help me out with everything cause i think im in a little over my head...side note can some one explain to me how to post a quote someone said in the thread?

Copy the quote you would like to make. Click on the quote button. Then paste it in between the quote.

I know this is old.. but fastnel has them. Nutsters is another word for them.. or pop rivet nut. I took it in to them and they ordered them for me. 1/4-20 X 1 in. (smallest one in length) Id give the part number but in traveling atm and wont be home for a few months. But hope this helps anyone that will need them in future.. btw u do need a special tool to install, but i used a washer longer bolt and a nut on mine to install but practiced on some spare metal till i got it. U can easily strip the nutsters/bolt by over tightening....
