I got off my Ninja yesterday (glad it wasn't the Firebolt) and forgot to put the kickstand down. Luckily, no damage - thanks to the frame and axle sliders. Boy do I feel dumb though! My first though was "I hope none of my neighbors saw this!"

My friend it happens. It's usually me, but it happens. Try riding about 20 miles before you realize your kick stand is down. First off I gotta hit the corners harder since I didn't even notice, second I'm a big ol dumb dumb. Speaking of which I need a new mounting bracket for an xb12s

I did the same thing:(....except it was at the store in front of a thousand people. First off the embarrassment sucks, but even worse is when a thousand people run over to ask if your OK!

I stepped off once but had my hands on it and said out loud "what the fuck is my problem!" then got back on it carefully and put down the kick stand. Made me feel stupid.

Stuff does happen. Learned my lesson years ago about keeping the shoelaces tucked inside my shoes:

I was approaching a stop light, started to put my left foot down, but the bow in my shoelace was hooked around the shifter :( Almost at a stop, I felt panic setting in because the bike was leaning to the left and there was no foot to catch it (that really is a bad feeling)! Thankfully at the last moment, I was able to shift my body weight so that the bike leaned to the right side for my right foot.

I did that with my starter bike. I was on-call for work and felt my phone ringing, quickly got off the street and pulled into a parking space before hopping off the bike and watching it fall to the ground. Thankfully it was a mid-80's kawasaki worth close to nothing. No damage and caught the call - which didn't even matter.
