Does the ECU retain info about how fast the bike was going? Like a log of some sort? JW, I have no idea and it may help my lawyer in my case.

Another question. Does anyone know the braking distances for the XB9R? i can't seem to find that info, maybe i'm internet retarded, idk.

typically the best things you can have is pictures of the area any skid marks how far the vehicles traveled on impact directions before and after impact. My friends mom was trained to evaluate accident scenes and it was amazing what she could tell just by looking at the clues... trust me my friend found out first hand :)

Oh and of course witnesses!

well, the only "witness" didn't see it, they never asked me anything about the wreck, and they didn't take pictures or mark off anything. I got a lawyer today and gonna see how things go.

No the ecm does not store speed info. Post ur email or tx and we can talk. I am a technical accident investigator and can give u some advice. Braking distance is going 2 be dependant on the vehicle speed, coefficient of friction of the roadway, % of braking of each tire, roadway slope and elevation, and total weight. I can rough guess but for court ur going 2 need 2 conduct test skids on the actual road. Hit me up and i can help u out more. Brett
