Sudden Throttle Opening

I hopped on the bike after a three month break, and the throttle was acting up.
I couldn't ride at a constant speed. The bike kept speeding up slowly. Trying to back off of the throttle did nothing until all of a sudden, the throttle would shut most of the way.
When trying to speed back up, rolling on the throttle, the bike slowly sped up and then all of a sudden the throttle would snap open to were it should be.
I adjusted the throttle cables, but to no avail.
I took it to the dealer. They couldn't find anything wrong, so they took the cable assembly and throttle bodies apart, and put them back together again.
No change.
Is this indicative of a failing solenoid? I don't know the name of the actual component. When it's removed the bike has been de'noided.

Just out of curiosity, is your bike an '08?

I know a guy that had an '08 that had the exact same problem. The local dealer couldn't fix it, they had a rep from Buell who couldn't duplicate the problem. He became so frustrated he sold the bike.

Keep searching the boards, this is a known problem with the 08 1125s, I keep thinking I read about someone that figured out what the problem was, and fixed it.

take off your air box cover, the air filter, and the big ass plastic housing under it. from the position of sitting on the bike, towards the top of the frame, there is a rubber hose about a 1/2 inch in diameter that sits near the two cables on the inside right of the frame. this hose needs to be pulled up far enough so as to not touch either cable.

i had the exact problem you are having and that was what was wrong with mine, but i can't guarantee that's what yours is. let me know if that helps. i have an 08 as well.

When the bike is cold and off, the TPS percentage tracks smoothly. Once the bike is warmed up running or not, the TPS doesn't track anymore. The TPS jumps up after about 1/4 throttle. So, I'm going to get it back to the dealer and have them look at that.

I went to the dealer, and guess what? The TPS is bad. It's on order should be here in a week or so.
Why does it take so long to get parts for these bikes?

My resistor plug took 7 months....Oh wait, no it didnt. They just never went in the back to look for it and relied solely on the computer to tell them it was in. They had it for 7 months until someone said "you know what? im going to go to the back and look for it."
