Was riding to the hardware store(about 2 miles from
My house). Super sunny day so I didnt wear my riding jacket. Was doing about 30MPH when I heard a loud BANG! Then was catapulted off my bike over the bars. When I collected my thoughts I looked around an noticed muffler broke off... The weld had broke and the muffle fell and caught the ground. My plastics are a little scratched need new brake levers both front and back back tire is flat and broke the headlight. Am pretty banged up but not seriously injured. Had my helmet on!

Glad to hear your ok. Invest in a jacket and gloves. They are worth every penny!

Glad to hear your ok also[up] post up some pics. of the broken weld when you get to feeling better.

Glad to hear you are ok.

I have heard about that happening but never first hand. Buell had a recall or safety bulletin for that reason. I made my own safety cable attached to the front of my muffle just to be safe.

Again.. glad you are ok man.

Crap. Glad you're not all torn up. Hope I never have the opportunity to post a thread like this, hope you won't have cause to again.

^^^Saw this the other day. In all fairness, this guy should have either stayed inside or outside that wet line even if he thought it was water. Couldn't understand why he didn't slow down and try to miss it a little better.

To the OP, glad you are ok and I agree....ATGATT!I hate wearing my jacket in the summer (leather), so need to find a classy looking mesh. Maybe one that is bedazzled....

Call me paranoid... but here is what I did to prevent such a thing.

Exact set up would not have helped in your case since I am attached at the inlet. Buell offered a similar kit for the race header/muffler due to collectors cracking I believe.

I have a replica of a race header and a questionable front mount so I did this "just in case"! Chances of it happening twice to you are probably slim but.. might wanna do something similar but attach to the can not the inlet (big band clamp maybe).

Glad yer not more than bruised up man!

Thanks NW i will absolutely be crafting this exact setup on my new exhaust... any recommendations on what kind??? i sent white bro's an email but they were recently bought by another company and said they couldn't do anything to help me out

Well... D&D, Vance & Hines and Supertrapp seem to be what most people run.

I have the Buell Race exhaust and from what I have read its what you want if you can find it. I ended up having a header made to match the race muffler I found. I looked for almost a year for a race header.

This popped up the other day. If you act fast it might still be available:

If I had some extra cash I would buy this just to put on my parts shelf. If you can... buy this! If its not sold in another week I may just have to buy it!

Nwrider, that's one he'll of a rig you got going lol

That video was one of the saddest things I've ever seen besides those animal shelter commercials haha that music is so damn sad!

I dumped a bike about a month ago running about 75 wearing nothing but a cutoff tee, blue jeans, helmet, and my trusty buell boots. I slid 60ft up a 29% grade hill. Walked away with a messy shoulder and 1 1/2 elbows lol

Glad you're okay.

As for the video...wtf....lol Little bit of situational awareness would've done him some good.

Think of it as an excuse to buy some upgrades....
