Let me just say the I did try the search button first, because I'm sure I'm not the first person to ask this question, but couldn't find my answer.

I'm looking for different settings for different styles of riding. Something that suggests a quarter turn out here...on click there. Usually I'm in sport mode when riding so that's what I'd be looking for. Does such a setting "chart" exist?...or should I buy a book and try and figure it out myself. I admit I'm a suspension novice...but I'm trying to fix that.

the owners and service manual has the recommended settings based on your weight and load. i found that i had to adjust on the heavy side for my riding style. im about 155 pounds but i use the settings close to what the book lists for 200lb riders. i found it to be MUCH more predictable and much less front dive under braking. but like i said, its MY preference. to me, i thought the settings from the dealer were outright dangerous. the front end was loose all over and wallowed a lot in a long sweeper. i took the front compression to i think about 1 turn out and rebound to 1 1/8 turns out. ill have to double check, but it was a little over a half turn more on comp than what was recommended, and just under 1/2 turn out on reb.

hope this makes sense.

but best thing to do is work on one setting at a time to resolve one issue at a time. write down the changes and then move on to the next issue.

im still working on the rear, but i think it needs only about 1/8 on compression from what im feeling.

Have a look at www.gostar-racing.com , they have an excellent set up guide. Cheers Mick:)
