Synth oil users, fan come on less?

Just wondering what you guys have seen..

I know years back a buddy of mine rode a custom roadstar and he switched from reg oil to Amsoil and his oil dipstick temp gauge read on avg 30 degrees cooler he said..

just thought maybe being in Texas and it gets pretty hot.. maybe the Synth would make a difference
 
I am in South FL, and after owning my 05 xb12r for a couple weeks now, I can see that I need to do something to keep it cooler. Last week I drove 20 miles at a constant 70mph, and when I stopped, the fan was running. It does need an oil change, and after some research on this site and the buelletin board, I think I am going with 20-50 amsoil synthetic blend for bikes.
 
Royal Purple Max Cycle 20W50 in both holes. Shifting was a little smoother and fan doesn't come on as often, so yeah, I think it helps it run cooler.
