Just bought a new set of T-Rex stands with the front stand having the triple tree lift. Tire change time.....and the rear stand was super stable and worked beautifully. Now the front triple tree extention does not give me enough clearance to lift the tire up passed the caliper roter. So am thinking I now have to use a jack to lift the front up to where I have the clearence to work the tire out. I clearly see the "jack point" triangles, with "Jack Point" clearly stamped on the bottom of the can. Seems to me that applying a jack on the fricking muffler would damnage it, ( Are they serious???) and not stable enough, making this a 2 man job. Does it have to be a scissor jack? or would a floor jack work....and how does it not damnage the can or the entire exhaust system?? Seems to me the dealer would have the rear tire chocked to hold it upright to make it a 1 man job.[confused]

stock mufflers have jack points built into them, i built a little flat bracket to put on my floor jack works fine

The muffler is made to be jacked from those spots the only people that have problems are the ones that don't know what they are doing. I have worked on several Buells I have aways used the muffler as a jack point with no problems.

In my Buell class at MMI they had the Buell mufflers cut open so we could see how they were put together. Both the stock muffler and the Buell race muffler have more than enough support to jack the bike. This is when common sense comes into play. A flat jack under a round bottom muffler with no other support is not going to work. Support the bike correctly use the proper equipment and you shoudn't have an issue.

Turn your forks a little bit off to the side and you can get the wheel out [up]
