Does anyone know how to make a diy tail lift for an xb12r? Ive looked at trojan and a couple other ones. and at another board but it doesnt list any sizes of the bolts, spacers or what not. any help would be appreciated.

Well a buddy of mine, and I are going to tackle this on friday or saturday. If all goes as planned I was planning on making a few extra so if anyone is interested let me know. If anything Ill just post up how we did it.

Seems it would be hard with a Bolt as you would have a larger plain to match up to the frame with the tail section rather than just the rails off a lightning.

Definitely keep us updated.

Yeah, I was thinking that. But I was looking at what they sell at trojan horse racing, and its a kit for an xbr. After shipping it was going to be over a 100 bucks. I was like there is no way in hell im going to pay that much for some brackets that can be made up. Heres a link for what im talking about.

So we will see how it goes, Ill update you all as soon as we are finished.

The kit from Trojan is actually a German kit made by Frank Parts. They are quite expensive, but they have been machined to match the shape of the frame and subframe etc. If you fit the brackets only, the original bodywork does not sit flush with the frame and the original seat has to be forced into place and this also does not look right. Frank parts do a new seat unit which looks the biz and comes with the brackets! All in the kit is about £260, but only comes with stick on seat foam. I decided to buy a proper seat made by Frank Parts, but this is an extra £160! Ouch! However, I'm well chuffed. In fact see seperate thread I started under for XBRs under the 'aftermarket' forum. Or see pics below!

Forgot to mention, but I bought direct from Frank Parts in Germany. They have a good on line sales service and even with postage ( a reasonable £25 to UK)worked out almost £200 cheaper than Trojan! Considering Trojan are UK based where I live, there was no contest in me ordering direct from Frank Parts! Trojan sell the same kit for £390 + UK vat!
See the Frank Parts link in my 'Fighterbolt' thread on the 'aftermarket' forum for XBR. Buying the brackets alone is quite expensive even from Frank Parts, but the whole tail kit I think is reasonable and it is good quality, but the gap between the unit and the frame differs from that of the airbox cover, but see my pics and how I rectified this.
