The book give a Harley part number of 68169-90A. My question is Is there a direct replacement besides harley? I've seen somewhere that it is 1157.

AND

Why isn't there a list of other options for things that the buell's use? I pretty much refuse to go to Harley for anything unless I have to but it seems like everything is incripted for Harley.

I just took a look at the bulb online, and that is definitely an 1157, look for a heavy duty one as standard duty bulbs don't last with the vibration. I went with leds to solve that issue.

Sorry for the late reply
I got my LEDs at Autzone probably 5-6 years ago, I think $15 for the Pair, as far as a Heavy duty 1157 try Napa they usually carry stuff for high vibration equipment, tractors, earthmovers things like that.
I would personally go the LED route though, less drain, nearly vibration proof, instant lighting, and a better brighter RED.

Sounds like a plan Ophawk. One last question for you. I went by Autozone last friday after you mentioned the led bulb. They have a red led bulb. I have the red lens on the tail, do you think the red light behind the red lens will be bright enough?

Yep, that's exactly what I used, The red shines right through the red lense just Like it is clear.
