I want to change the decals on my bike but I'm not sure what the best way to get the existing ones off. Usually I would use a heat gun but I'm afraid it will destroy the plastic cover. What have you guys done to get them off?

i used some floss to get the decals off then just used some "Goo Gone" that I picked up from the local Advance Auto Parts store. There may be a better method to get the adhesive off but what I used worked well enough with some elbow grease.

A hair dryer will make the glue soft without messing up the plastic. As long as you don't heat it up for a ridiculously long time. I just removed the front plate emblem by using a hair dryer, dental floss, and Goo-Gone. It worked well. Be prepared for some shadowing to be visible though. You can tell where the emblem on mine was from certain angles if you know what to look for, its hard to see though.

You can polish it with Novus and that should be the end of the shadowing.

Think this Novus would work to get some shadowing off of my windscreen? Previous owner put a Harley Sticker on there. Also, can you buy this Novus at any stores, or just off the web. Thanks. Sorry for the hijack.

My buddy is into auto repair, I steal his when I need it. :p Did find it here on Amazon though. He says it's a good price for it. Novus Polish Kit
