One of the drawbacks to buying a bike in the middle of winter in the midwest is not being able to ride it! Can anybody tell me what it feels like to crack the throttle open on an 1125? Feel free to share stories! [mad]

It makes your butthole pucker! Took one out on a test ride and it was scary quick compared to my XBs.

It's very tight feeling. Definitely confidence inspiring. It looks like a big bike, but it feels very small. It's also a trip how it's quieter than the XB's yet it's so much faster.

I did a test ride on a CR when they were blowing them out. rolled the throttle on in 2nd gear and the front wheel came right up. I wasn't expecting that! Gave me that Holy S!%% feeling that my XB had when I bought it as my first bike. I was verry close to buying that thing, and now that I look back, I should have. Wife was all for it, but I didn't have the room in the garage.

it will make your sticker peck out. i dont really know ive never ridden one, but i just wanted to share that.

have you ever been with a girl?..... lol jk,

i've been on a cr, and it was a lot more than my 9 was! i was to intimidated to crack the throttle!

they are an awesome bit of kit. nice veetwin power great torque. absolutely smacks my xb12 for launch, drive and on going power. and expecially from about 80klms/h and up. and the fact i can rev to 10k rpm just adds to the value when i am coming out of bends. no more quick shifts... just twist and go.

they are chalk and cheese, yet both are brilliant for what they do.

I am oldscool and have 3 gpz900r,s. For my 50th I desided to buy a modern bike.I came across a 1125r,new nothing about it but it looked fantastic, and the price was right. The bike was a 1000klm away.Paid forit and had it shiped home.Man this bike is a beast,It took a little getting use to,the brakes stop so good(the back brakes i dont like though, lock up to easy)The torque is amazing,if you find yourself in the wrong gear, dont sweat,it will still pull like a 2 dollar hoar.I find this bike suited to thrashing on my fav roads(twisties)early on weakend mornings,I am adicted. As a comuter no thanks.I ride my 900r everytime,Its to hot,and it loves revs to much for traffic IMO.I think this bike is an unbeatable, value for money ride. Thanks Eric[up]

I have to agree with the above. It is a beast and similar to the XB handles great. It took me about 6 months to get used to, I thought it would be just like a XB but I was wrong. Its not as flickable yet makes up for it in the middle of the appex and exit. The acceleration is fantastic! Another thing that is great is the lighting on the R, I CAN SEE!!!! My XB9R with the worn out headlight buckets, I probably would have been better off lighting a candle and trying to ride with it for light.

All and all after riding the 1125R for a little over a year now. I am to say the least, Pleased! The only thing I miss about the XB is the rumbling hotrod sound. [up]

my 1125 is plenty flickable for me. put some high bars on it to get more leverage and you'll be muscling that b around like a paper weight.

it's like an XB, just refined and smoothed-out, and more fun!
and every time it goes back to the dealer for warranty work, it gets more refined !! LOLz ... -sigh-

but seriously, it is a serious and very capable bike. more than my abilities. i do not feel 'as one' with IT as i do my XB9. part of that because of the power available at the twist of my wrist, and partially cuz of the 3 years i've allready ridden my XB. but given teh same 3 years in IT's saddle, i'm sure it will change.

the idling cadance is not music to my ears, but the
'wwwwwwwWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUIIIIIIII-shift-WWWWWAAAAAAAAUUUUGGGGGGHHH' is my favorite song, and i can play it all day long

lol, I love that sound too!!!!

Borrowed one for a weekend,It was nice, not as fast as my ninja but amazingly addicting, sort of like warm apple pie ;) O yeah, and about 30 mpg, I dont know about you guys but that upset me??? I dont know I like to have a little fuel mileage although, not a valid argument when it comes to speed :p

Thats my deal as well, I dont feel the same on the 1125 as I did on my 9. I have to work more through the corners than I did with my 9.

I don't own an 1125 but I just bought an xb12s in the middle of winter as well....its probably the most I have ever hated winter in my entire life...poor bike just sits in the garage :(

One more thing about riding it! the odds of seeing another one are slim compared to the popular sport bikes!!!especially the crs with only 3099 made over 2 years approximately. That's what i really like -different :D

We took care of that in Springfield, MO :D
