Dallas - don't know if you saw this or not

It's also posted on 3 other Buell forums.

A bunch of middle TN riders will be headed over for this, and it promises to be a great time. Good people, good roads.

The weather (except last weekend....man, that was a gift!) has been so crappy lately folks haven't been riding much. Spring is around the corner, though!

I was pretty close to Cookeville last weekend - about 5 of us went to loop around Center Hill lake.

No i sure didn't see that. Thanks for the link. If your ever up in this area again PM me. I just got the bike out of storage on monday...now if I can just get this goofy grin off my face :p.

yeah I meant to say East Tn here Tricities area real close to 421 over the mountain I only know one other around here who has a buell s3 he got me wanting one

Hey Tarvis - We are the few and the proud! As close as you are you should consider coming down for the gathering at the Dragon too.

I'm trailering bikes over - the ride there is fun, but the ride back, when you are already tired, and know you have to get home, is a drone down I-40 that seems to never end.

Dallas - will do next time I head that way. Same for you - if you plan to ride west, let me know! The weather is looking to suck this weekend, though.

I wanna ride the dragon when I get a little more experience. Wasn't there a rockslide recently?

Yea tarvis I have to say I'm in the same boat. If I can swing the money and be able to make the meet this year I'll stay at the back of the pack so that I don't slow the rest of the guys up. I don't know of the conditions up there but I know that I went for a little ride up the plateau here and the roads were horrible. There were tree limbs and junk all in the road.

Dragon is over rated. Its just like every other road in the mountains. I like 209. Great for all. Nice twisties and straights but with a speed limit of 55 the whole way!

The Dragon is one of those things you want to do, at least once. I don't think it's over rated - it's an unbelievable road. But, anymore, it seems like I am always stuck behind something going so slow I can barely stay upright on it.

The other roads in the area are fantastic, and even though 129 will be closed, we will still have several days of great fun and great riding. Hwy 28, the Cherohala, the Suches loop, Devil's Triangle, the good riding possibilities are endless. We have a few giveaways planned, the beer will flow, and the Buells will be owning the corners.

Come on down anyway!

209 is right down the road about 30 to 45 min away from the dragon. You should hit that one up too. I work in Maggie Valley and invite you all to come by and check out a great time. I work in a wind tunnel ( the one that was on Nitro Circus). Its a great time and would like to see the lot full of buells! Maybe join you guys for a ride when I get off.

thnd3 - Once I get caught up tonight, I'll send you a PM.

And, it looks like there is a good chance the Dragon will be open, just no through traffic. Come up from NC side and turn around. This from Brad at Deal's Gap resort:

"Friday April 2

Good morning and a happy good friday to everyone. Things contiue to move forward on getting the Dragon reopened by Wen next week. Waiting now for all the paperwork to be signed so the barricade can be moved.

Key things to remember:

1- It will not be one way traffic, you have to turn around and come back to the resort.

2- Two way traffic will mean crossing the double yellow puts you at risk as well as other motorcycle riders. Will resault in serious injury or a fatality.

3- THP will patrol ever day until the slide is gone, this is for our protection NOT I say again NOT to write endless tickets and use it as a revinue builder.

Easy stuff gang, we can have the Dragon for once without semi traffic on it. No word yet when the road will be open for thru traffic that will be up to the rock slide when they bring it down. But just at $2 million for the winning contract I do not see it as taking long or they will be losing money fast."

See ya'll there!

Hey guys, Kendall from Nashville here. Just got back from the Dragon ride. Rode my bike there and back, got 1,100 miles in 4 days. I'm beat. It was a great ride. Mark your calendars, Dragon IV is April 14-17, 2011.

hey guys, wanted to say i had a blast at your rally and will definately be back next year as long as you all will put up with me and my SV. I feel like i made a bunch of great new friends and the Deals Gap Inn / resort / motel was awsome...and to the guy who says the dragon is over rated i agree with you on the ridiculous speed limit, but other than that i have to say its the best road ive ever road, make up your own minds
