My "new" X1 is pretty close to being dialed in. Your advise on the TPS procedure saved the day. I'm anxiously awaiting the plug so I can get the carbon fiber bits installed.

That forcewinder was a bear, however, but it is on. Anyone have any thoughts on where to hide and how to protect the air temp sensor?

great to hear! Your plugs in the mail.

As far as the forcewinder, i never had a real one, i made my own. Not sure where the IAT sensor is located on a real one but on mine i drilled a hold in the bend of the elbow and inserted it there. Do you have an EFI forcewinder or are you using a carb one?

This one is feom a carb bike, and drilling a hole sounds like a great idea.

Apperantly the carb bikes used a different thread pitch; my bike has three M6-1.0 16mm bolts, but the Forcewinder came with a more course thread bolt. I was very lucky I caught it before damaging my threads! That's what caused all my woes. I thought the intake and support brackets were fighting me by not lining up. I also had to use a die grinder to cut down an allen key to tighten the bolts. It's on and looks very nice. EBay to the rescue!

You will need a rubber grommet that the IAT sensor will fit and then the hole for that grommet.. its going to be 1/2" or larger hole i believe you will need to drill.
