new owner of a buell but i've always loved em. What do you guys think the future of buell is? with ebr up and running do you think buell will ever make another lightning, firebolt or uly!?

He has like three new models coming out that sort of follow in their footsteps

After he works on the 1190 and gets the price down to somewhere reasonable, he will eventually come out with a naked bike version similar to the Lightning and the CR, and will probably start developing consumer grade bikes. Right now he is still trying to get established without Harley Davidson.

I don't really see why Erik would do any bikes that are all that similar to the xb's. Harley said "no" to him too many times during developmental stages. I think the first real consumer grade bike EBR puts out will show us what Erik really wanted to do with Buell. I think the 1190 already has, but that's just simply not on a realistic scale in terms of price

I think in time when Erik gets his new company rolling, we may see something more affordable for the "average joe", also I agree with frostedflakejake in the direction Buell was going, just look at the evolution of the Buell, that's all folks!:D

I personally cant wait to see what comes out of there. He said there will only be a 100 bikes made of the new 1190rs so it will prob be awhile til we see something a little more affordabe if it ever happens. I believe he is happy desigining race bikes that seemed to be his real passion when he made the first buell.

It's the whole reason Buell got rid of the Blast. As good as it is as an entry level or commuter bike, it's not what Buell is at the core. What we're seeing now is the modern rebirth of something that happened 20+ years ago... Buell building race bikes and racing.

If other production/street bikes come (which I would be thrilled to see, and if they do, I suspect they would be similar to what we have now, but different at the same time) then that would be great, if not, then I'm still thrilled to know that there is an American bike competing against the rest of the world.

well put silverado

Erik's a human and has human emotions. i never met nor do i know the man but human nature dictates that after what transpired between he and the mother ship H-D, we will NEVER again see any Buell motorcycles with any H-D based or sourced components. and if i were he, i wouldn't want anything to do with the pricks that run that outfit either. that is unless he decides to do bikes with conchos, fishtails, and apehangers.

More to come...

I too agree with the fact erik must get EBR going solid so he then expand into a larger offering of bikes. Racing is what started him in the 1st place so I'd expected him to stay doing that for a while until the market is good enough for him to begin the expansion into offering different models. I don't ever expect his bikes dip below 10k new as the rest of big sportbikes are slowly creeping up in price every year. My only serious concern is can erik and EBR really handle going after the super bike realm of that bmw and duc. It seems everyone is making that switch to rider aid electronic controls such as traction, wheelie, abs. I only EBR can match them.
