Crawling up your skirt
Its my first CR so forgive the ignorance…
I noticed the slight fraying on the outside of the belt and it's rubbing here

and here when the suspension compresses

the shifter makes a little mark here

is this spacer supposed to be here, between the tensioner bracket and the engine case.

Something is out of alignment, check the bolts on the idler k-bracket ive had mine back out before. Also pull the plastic cover over the front drive gear and make sure its tight as well.

Everything is tight and even the wheel bearings are new. There's no slop in the rear so I don't think it's missing a spacer? Has one on the belt side and the rear brake lines up fine.

And what bolts to that bung the belt is rubbing on? It's not for the lower belt guard.

The bung is right near the footpeg right? If so it can be used when going to a gp style shift pattern.

Something is out of whack, maybe logix will post up. I think he had a similar issue awhile back.

Just thinking out loud, the only lipped part of the 1125 belt system is the forward sprocket/cush drive so something has to be out of aligntment

Here is the pic of the gp shift kit using that threaded bung.

Thanks Cosworth, that's pretty cool. I had no idea the GP kit existed[up]
I cheated on my XBS for awhile by flipping the shift linkage around on the shift shaft;) I was riding a couple different bikes at the time and got [confused] sometimes. haha.

I'll keep searching and check Logix posts.

I have a couple of question for you.
1) Does the belt still look the way it does in your first picture?
2) did you roll your bike out of the garage and then take the picture?

The reason I'm asking you this is the cord you see is normal.
I don't see a polished edge as if the belt rubber was rubbing on something.

Also if you roll your bike backwards the belt will move away from the inside of the pulley and walk closer to the outside/rear sets.

Your best bet is to put it on a rear stand and roll the tire forward and see how your belt tracks..
I have seen a rear pulley bent by someone dropping the wheel on its side while changing the tire.. So strange things do happen.

That's a GREAT question SquidBuellie.
1) No. It looks fine right now. I assumed it wandered back and forth.
2) Yes. That's what happened, and thanks[up] for explaining whats up.

I'm ok with the slight fraying, but there is some worn off paint on the back of the GP shifter hole. Maybe just rubs when I back it up, I guess.

The other side of the belt is smooth but not polished, and the low-mile spare belt for it looks the same (smooth on one edge and slightly frayed on the other)

I'll quit worrying, thanks a bunch you guys[cool]

At a quick glance at your pic it looks pretty bad, guess cause its zoomed in quite a bit lol.

Cosworth, what year and type of bike is your shifter off of? I've been using a bandit shift arm but looking for a longer one and yours looks like the length I'm looking for.

Hi guys,

I'm new to buelligans, couldn't figure out where to create a post. My 1125cr belt just snapped and was wondering what belts could be used as an alternative to the OEM belt. I'm a bit strapped for cash and need the bike on the road as its my only form of transport at the moment. Can I get away with running a smaller belt??

Cheers in advance.

Post a pic of how the belt rides on the rear sprocket. Flanged side goes on the wheel side. I've seen people flip them on accident.
