The reason Buell is no more

I just can't get past WHY Harley would use their OWN money to help sell these bikes. It makes no sense why the dealers can afford to bail out of the limited stock they have, like it's some kind of rush to be out of the Buell business like it's going to hurt them somehow to keep a few bikes on the floor. I sense some kind of marketing stunt, maybe the dorag pirate outfit isn't working anymore.

Exactly. If buell only accounts for 2% of their business, why the sudden urge to move these units out into the street? How does it profit H-D to blow out these bikes under cost when they only represent such a small part of their overhead? It simply must be some kind of last ditch effort to get people talking about Buell again. If that's the case, you have to give them credit. I am already starting to grow fond of H-D for this big "price adjustment". Hey, if they slash the price of the cruiser in half, say around 8 or 9 thousand otd for a roadglide brand new in the crate, yeah, I might buy one.

I doubt this is some sort or marketing ploy. All it shows me is how unstable the company (HD) is if that is what they are trying to do.
