I've been on this forum for a while soaking up knowledge and such from both the xb9/12r and 1125r/cr sections only owning a blast. But being determined and hopeful here is my only question to decide between the Harley twin vs the Rotax twin- is the a good stator upgrade or swap for an 1125?

I plan on getting something bigger after taxes roll in. I love the Harley rumble but if the Rotax has or can be fitted with a better Stair I'd rather have the speed to outrun any popo behind me. I know the one-twenty-five's have the stator issue pretty regular so that's what im judging by. Any help is much on this subject is much appreciated.

08's dont have stator issues, so the answer to your question is yes. Go with a 08 MY or if you get a 09 or 10 plan on having it rewound and getting the EBR rotor mod done. The other option is putting in a 08 stator and rotor.

^ true.

Though with an '08 you have the possibility of a clutch weep. Simple, inexpensive fix.

*EDIT: I'm pretty sure that this is the only real difference between the '08 model 1125 series and the '09/'10 1125s. That and you can have an '08 in any color you want, so long as it's black.

Loving every minute of my '08 1125R. She can be picky about gas though, and sometimes doesn't like waking up in the morning with how lean she is now with a Drummer exhaust and K&N filter without the proper tuned ECM for it.

Thank both. Did they come out with a black frame on the 1125 ever? I've only ever seen the funky metallic blue frame.

09 & 10 don't have the blue frames
the CR came out in 2009 too so if you want a streetfighter, you have to go 09-10 or convert an 08.
