Connecticut for now....
I used to run black header wrap on my stock pipe, but once i got my race system i sent it out and had it ceramic coated. Coater had an issue with his oven during the process and the first min i ran bike, the coating started coming off. He re-did it and i wasnt really that happy with it. Now a year later it doesnt look all that great. In the future i am going to try the process myself and bake it in my powdercoating oven, but for this season i was thinking of trying out some of the DEI Titanium header wrap. I think it would look good on my bike... thoughts?

the nice thing about my pipes, they are separate so i can wrap each one individually instead of together like the factory pipes.

I know a bunch around here are using the titanium wrap, hows it holding up, looking after some miles?

heres my bike it would be going on....

Personally I hate the look of the header wrap, and ince it starts to wear and weather it looks even worse. Its the best looking Tube frame Buell ever, keep it that way.

Are those the Borla headers? Maybe closeup, the headers look worse than what's shown in the pic... but I think it looks awesome as-is.

On your bike, I think your original black header wrap (any pics of that?) would look better than the titanium, but that's my opinion.

Redo the ceramic. If it's prepped correctly it will hold up. I only do the air cured stuff, no oven required and it's been working out just fine.

If you have a bead blast cabinet, use aluminum oxide media (80-100 grit) that's clean to start with (no oil/grease) and then shoot it like paint, just really thin.

This has been on for over a year, looks as good as it did when I first put it on except for one scratch where I'd gotten a little rough handling it.

lol- i keep going back and forth but thanks for the input., i feel the same way. Im just waiting on a few more back ordered parts and am getting antsy to ride the damn bike this summer.... the pipes dont look that bad. im just really picky and looking at them really closely it drives me nuts. The system is a Borla.

Dean- I know we talked about it in the past and i found out the guy that did the coating did use cerakote. The coating the second time around has been holding up fine.... but it looks like they bead blasted the hell out of the pipes and you can see that through the coating. When i have time ill pull them back off and blast them. Im thinking of sanding them back smooth, doing a light blast for some bite and then redoing the coating myself.

lol-

what color are you using Dean? Im liking the Glacier Black in the air dry.
Im thinking that my pipes now are jet black (oven cured) which is a true flat black.... Id like to go with a satin or almost light gloss.

are you spraying it with a small touch up gun? any idea on tip size? Single coat or several light coats?

found the user guide for application so im reading through that now. Its answering all my questions.

Im going to order some of this right away!
