49 hp is pathetic they dont handle same look for 30 years unless its just for the brand i dont get it.

Whoa Whoa ! Why put down Yugo ? I dated a girl in the 80s that had a beige one,and got the best exercise of my life with it . Between the sex in it, pushing it when it always died and running from it when it burst into flames . Damn fine car!

Yea its about riding an over weight, under powerd, all bark, no bite, attention getting primadonna machine. SAY IT! JAST SAY IT!!!!! YOU WANT THE ATTENTION!!! YOU WANT A SLOW LOUD BIKE TO LOOK TOUGH AND BAD ASS WITH OUT BEING TOUGH AND BAD ASS! JUST SAY IT!!!!!!!!!! SAY IT!!!!! You want respect for nothing. You want to be a part of those guys that are to cool to wave at jap bikes, sAY IT!!! Its not about going fast. Its about the image. just say it. Its like driving a monster truck to work. Just say it.
Its like this, you dont have to ride fast but if it sounds fast it better be able to match its bark or your just poseing. I didnt make that up.

Look im just fucking with you. I dont care what you do or like im just playing around. To each his own. You do what you want to do for you. I was really just playing. Dont get upset.:D

Misternikko---- i think your biggest concern about buying a H-D should be , DO I LOOK GOOD IN LEATHER AND A DEW RAG .

I understand not understanding a 1200cc bike that makes 50hp, but to be fair the rest of the sportbike world cant understand why we're riding 1000cc sportbikes that only make 92hp and 1200cc bikes that only make 103hp when you can get a 1000cc bike that makes 175hp with abs, different power modes and traction control.

apples and oranges and to each his own i guess.i was working my busa to get in the 220 mph range a good friend of mine told me why in the hell would you want to do that i thought who in the hell wouldnt want to.

Its all about the on demand torque for me, plus I can blink and im at 125mph. So i understand what your saying but for me, it is a very fast bike. A xb12 buell is super fucking fast off the line and to the next stop light. So for real life riding it very fast. There will always be a faster bike but let be real here, when someone says its not about speed and they ride a 48hp sporster, well it deff not about speed, but when your on a very light buell with 100hp and 84ft torque im going to have to disagree with you if you say thats not fast. Top end does not mean fast. A buell in real life is a very fast bike. It got mad ass lowend and great mid too.

Forget these douches that say a sportster is for girls.
Get what you like and enjoy it. No one but posers will make fun of you....and that is the truth

Its funny the way all you guys especially you brightbuell talk about Harleys and you ride a Buell. To the sport bike community we ride the under powered bikes, but you don't ride a Buell for the power. I mean our 12's put out 103 hp to a BMW s1000rr's 196. So to bash Harley on horsepower is a little ridiculous and hypocritical. You call a Harley like riding a "Monster truck" when its like riding any cruiser. To compare our Buell's to a Harley is like comparing a Mustang GT to an Escalade or Denali. Sure the Mustang is faster, but the Escalade is a hell of a lot more comfortable. You continue on with your arguments and only focus on that bad in Harley-Davidson, so set in your ways that you are unwilling to see the good in them. You need to take the blinders off and stop being so narrow minded. The company has been around around 107 years so obviously they did something right. To bash Harley-Davidson with the arguments you have been you must then condemn all companies building cruisers today, as they ALL have your underpowered issue. You also continue to call them overweight. They are heavy, but when you have a 5.5 gallon gas tank, maybe a fairing to keep the wind off especially for the older, more casual riders, crash bars to protect the rider in an event of a fall, and other things like that its going to be heavy. I'd rather go down on a Harley then on my Buell. On the Harley I have a much smaller chance of getting crushed. So before you continue you bash them with your incredible arrogance and narrow mindedness, I'd seriously encourage you to re evaluate your position.

I don't judge any one by what they ride as i could care less . As a multiple Buell owner i think alot of us on here are just PISSED how H-D treated our brand so your gonna get negative feedback. I just struggle to understand why H-D riders think they are SO BAD ASS ,leather, dew rags, fringe, tassles, tatoos and always look pissed. That don't make you BAD ASS! Just because you ride a hogg and spent tons of $$$$$ on chrome dont make you better or BADDER than anyone else. So, just buy the Harley and enjoy the feel of your dew rag flopping in the wind , and be sure to look angry when you ride. :p

90 percent of the harley guys ive met call the 883 a girls bike/bithces bike and have for as long as i can remember but your probably right dwhite they are posers of course i wouldnt tell the H A OR BANDIDOS that.i understand the whole cruisers thing buellrider and there is a place for comfort goldwing is all comfort and technology i have friends that ride harleys lots of them they all say the same thing its under powered they all spend tons of money to build power they also complain harley put ugley ass mirrors, pegs, grips and other things so you have to spend tons of money to make them look good.thers no reason harley cant build a 700-1000 lb bike with around 130 hp theyre customers would go crazy for it.i would probably buy one im never going to buy a 15000-30000 dollar bike with 86 hp so can spend 10000 to make it fast and 5000 to make it loud and have the pegs and mirrors i want.and for all the buellers that say its not about speed and power why do mods to our buells and when iv compared buells to jap bikes all you hear is we have torque theyre great in the twisties and they are but only about 10 percent of us dont show chicken strips and ride them like they should be ridden.harleys could be a much better bike than they are they look good sound awesome.but harley davidson the company sucks ass.speed and performance is every thing on a bike and it always will be cruiser, sport or dirt anyone who dosnt know that is a poser.nikko will get what feels good to him enjoy the hell out of it make it look better sound better and perform better.and screw all of us that dont agree more power to him.this was posted by the member with the worst spelling and grammer on this forum and possibly the internet.

Brider3158, What has harley done for anyone? They are an American Icon, nothing more, thats the reason they are still here. They are still here cuzz half our police buy them instead of cheaper, faster, more reliable bikes out of patriotism. I would personally have a less patriotic cop thats gunna catch that fucker that just stole my care/bike/tv than the ones we have today that buy the HD for the name.

Harley misleads us all with their marketing and ads, saying they have grown 9% last quarter, BULLSHIT. I read a review the other day saying HD had 10 years to change its image. 10 years ago their target customers were 40-41 middle to upper class males. Today that target group is 45-48, in ten years all their buyers are going to be too old to ride/health issues/whatever. If they dont change, they go down the drain.

And you are right in a way, most Liter bikes think Buells are the bastard child of HD that is underpowered and has a bunch of wonky parts, they all think that, right up to the point where they try to keep my tailight in sight through a set of twisties. No one will understand a Buell until they ride on, aggressively.

After what HD did to Buell and MV and our American people, I will no longer support a brand that doesnt support the rider.

Anyhow, off the HD bashing and back on point. IF I were to move to a cruiser-esque bike, right now, it would be a Triumph Thruxton. It may be underpowered but its not 700lbs and underpowered covered in chrome.

My bike wish list
a big bore cb750
Uly
VFR
2 stroke Kawasaki
Blast
VRod
Dyna
a tuber Buell (s1 or m1 or similar)
something for highway riding, HD or otherwise.
and of course my XB

Since I can't afford all that, and I've already got a 750, I think the next bike would likely be a VRod

DO I LOOK GOOD IN LEATHER AND A DEW RAG

LMAO! I see these dorks all the time when I stop by my local HD/Buell dealer. I think their doo-rags are tied too tight and cutting off the blood circulation in their heads. They think they look cool, I think they look like idiots.

I separate the bikes from the riders, and I don't let stereotypes bother me. I like old-school bobber-style Harleys, plain and simple. Sportsters like the 48 and the Superlow appeal to me because they embody the bobber philosophy. Baggers, choppers, tourings....no interest.

A bike like a Triumph Thruxton is cool, but I have to confess the engine sound just doesn't do it for me. I'd have to put in one of those 270 degree cranks to make it sound more like a Harley/Buell. Even with an exhaust, the Thruxton just doesn't sound appealing to me.

Also, personally I would want something with forward controls. Instead of finding something that is similar to the XB, I would want something that is different.

Love the VROD, it's what I went to crunch numbers on when I ended up seeing the 48. After the options I want and TTT it came out to almost 20k. Maybe in a few years. For now the 48 fits the bill. Looks kool, has a 1200 and is pretty affordable. But above anything else I like how it looks and know I will be going out to the garage just to look at it and thus will always wanna ride it.

Anrkizm - glad u like the pic, I love my Buell. And sorry if I came off like an arrogant college professor. I don't go around checking people's literacy as I really don't care. I just thought if someone was gonna carry on like that and try to make a powerful end all be all point he should at least not leave himself open to any scrutiny. It was too easy and in my opinion he deserved it. No offense to anyone, I'm sure I've misspelled or screwed up some grammar somewhere in this thread.

Rider3158 - I couldn't agree with you more, however I don't want to reopen the Harley bashing. I am buying one anyway, I was just sharing with the community. I am glad I did tho as I'll now be on a 1200 instead of the 883 and thus can leave my pink panties at home ;)

Lastly, I love those triumphs...def getting one of those for those days I wanna rock my risky business ray bans and roll out all nostalgic. Those things, thruxton ad bonneville..look wicked!
