so i picked up a 99 civic si at the end of last summer because i needed a car......

i picked it up from a guy for a fair price and he told me it had a salvage title on it, but the engine was replaced with a new engine along with other little misc things such as rotors, brakes, fluids and such. He had paperwork for all these things including the engine replacement.

Currently the engine has like 30k on it and the body has 98k it runs and shifts great, vtech works as it should, and cosmetically the car is great bedsides a spot on the rear spoiler that has some clear coat peeling. and the interior is also in great condition. The car is stock besides DC Sports headers and exhaust.

I want another jeep (as did i when i bought this car but they hold their value and i didnt have enough to buy a jeep last summer) From what i find online civic SI's hold their value as well!

Well i went to a little dealership in town that mainly only sells wranglers. and got to talking to the owner about trading in my car. I told him i'm pretty sure the car has a salvage title but it all runs good and has a new engine and such. When we were having that convorsation i reached in the glove box and pulled out my title and nowhere on the title did it say salvage or rebuilt or anything of that nature. So as far as i can tell the guy i bought it from didn't even know exactly what he was selling me. and the jeep dealer agreed.

the jeep dealer offered me like 3k for the car but KBB says my car is worth around 6k, and some forums and other places suggest even up to 7k.....

Are there any tuner car enthusiasts out there that might give me some insight as to what i should list my car for if i choose to sell it?

I would sell it privately and hold out for more. I think $3K is really low for an SI. I would say $5K to start, but wouldn't take less than $4200.

3000$ is WAY too low.
That's what a dealer needs to offer so they can make their profit, depends on how fast and how much time you want to deal with people who don't show up, insult you with low ball offers and what not. Those are just a few dra backs of selling it your self.

No dealer I have ever dealt with uses KBB. Most use Black Book (http://www.blackbookusa.com/) or NADA (http://www.nada.com) If the engine has been replaced, you will never get anything better than fair condition value. Doesn't matter how great the engine is.

Well forget about selling I found a really nice jeep on CL ad talked the guy into tradin!, may not have been the best deal but the jeep is in great shape!, much better than any of the last three yj's I've had! And I'm happy with it!

The jeep has a rebuilt engine both top an bottom, it runs an shifts well!

I do wish it had power steerin however... I'm goog to try to look into it and see what it'll take to add it to it
