evey year when riding season is done and I bring my bike in the house to clean and change it up and upgrade it.
the problem is I think I have done everything there is to do to it.
I love it and hate to sell it. I dont know wich way tpo go if I do ,get a vrod nightrod so I can do long trips with my wife(she has a big vtx..but wants a street fighter like a z1000..cant talk her into a xb,wich would be great I could give her mine.
I really would like something exotic ,a ducati 1198 looks perfect but want to go back to a I4 ,I miss the sound and power of my ninja,so a mv agusta sounds better if I can find one that is damaged so I can custom paint it.
I cant think of anything else to do to my xb12r ..the bigger front brake caliper and re paint the spare body plastics is about it.
if I sell it what should I ask for a complete custom but stock looking to people who dont know buells? its a 04 xb12r

Keep it and get something that's different enough to justify having both! What are you looking to spend?

Id love it cowboy but its expencive and still a v twin..the only reason I wont buy a ducati.
mirkvid, that was the plan but we bolth have 2 bikes each already our street bikes and duel sports.
I will probley spend around $10k . if I go with a cruser the only one I like is the nightrod because of the looks and still a bit sporty..eventhough Im anti harly . if I go sportbike again I want a mv agusta and make it look alot like my xb does now. I just wonder if its going to be confy enough for me to road trip on..I know its not built for confy but we are riding alot now and I have 3 messed up back discs.

I've road tripped on my XB in the Summer of 2010. It got real uncomfortable, but was doable. I have an Italian sport bike too, and couldn't imagine doing a serious trip on it. Maybe you should look into a sport touring bike. Have you looked into an Aprilia Tuono? You can get great deals on the leftover stock right now. What MV are you looking at? the F4 would be pretty terrible for a trip. Maybe the Brutale would be cool though.

I would want a f4 . if I could buy a 1190rs for $10k I would but it looks like it would be worse to trip than the mv or ducati.
I rode a 996 and a newer 1098 and they felt like tourcher devices.
I have never ridden a vrod ,just sat on them but rode asian versions that bored me in the 1st few miles but felt great but lazy on the highway.
if I could ad a extra gear to my xb that would be great.

Thought of a triumph?
Triples give a little more hp than a twin but still has low end grunt.
And they are pretty exotic if you ask me.
I ride with a few street and speed triples and they do go pretty good.

I would recommend the EBR 1190rs as well.
He doesn't want a twin.

I'd go with a Triumph Speed Triple, best of all worlds, fantastic motor, upright position for long hauls and terrific handling. Now looks may be an issue to some but they may bring back a 955 one of these days so if you didn't want a naked bike....

I am also about to sell my XB I belive Chevnut, I am a LARGE man and am looking at a 06-07 Hayabusa, never wanted one till my neighbor got another and I fell in love with being able to stretch out!!! Good luck with the sale/trade

My brother has a triumph S3. That bike is FUN. And it feels like your butt is getting a massage compared to my XB's seat. Also it has a very slight lean to it much like the xb's. So; road trips, check. Performance, check. Sweet looking, check. Go for it [up]

went to a triumph dealer..same place as the h/d drealer.
I love the daytona but they need to step up the motor size.
the vintage bikes are cool but need to have mordern wheels like the retro ducati. but still too small.
the others I had no interest in.
I was told to get a v max, but that is the uglyest bike I ever seen.

Never thought I'd like one until I drove the 07 we had on the floor for a couple of weeks. Though it's big it handled pretty decent. Of course it is stupid fast and sounded great with twin mega phone pipes.
