Just figured I'd share my progress, I know the exhaust horse has been beat to death, but since I can't afford the pro-built cans I took matters into my own hands and started my own

**sorry all I got is photobucket links**

I ordered a jones Y pipe off of fleabay then dug through my brothers scrap pile and found an old glasspack that's still in good shape to cut up and some giant washers, I'm far from being done but it's comeing along

What ya think so far?

If you copy that "direct" link on the photobucket page, you can click the image button on here and put it in. Like this:

How long is that setup going to be? It looks a little long and still needs to angle up to meet the headers.

Looks like a lot of work, I'm glad there was already an exhaust on my XB when I got it; I would be tempted to try my own and I don't think it would come out very well.

Hmm nothing showed up on my phone...oh well....

The cans are only 9" long and I cut alot of the Y pipe, total lenth right now is right about 19"....the stock XB can is about 28" from end to end but the inlet is set back a couple inches so I'm figureing I got about 6" to work with for the link up to the header and the end tips, I ran out of wire so I'm at a stand still right now:(

No you copy the "direct link" in the box titled "Links to share this photo" on the photobucket website. Then you click the "image" box under the emoticons in the BuellXb reply box, then you past the direct link in there. Like this:

It looks like 2 Jardines in a D&D configuration. [up] Should be interesting.

I got more welding wire so I'm back in buisness, now I just need time:)

Oh and gave the pic another try...

I think it looks like a monster, American craftsmanship, hard welds, its rough, big, sounds like it could backfire and tear up any minute, and obnoxious looking and I'm completely in love with it. I dig all home made **** for these bikes. that's what its all about.

Good work man.

Finally got er done up right, stainless tips black paint and shortened it by 1 1/2"

Now to put er on and she how she looks...

Version 3.0

It started life as just a piece of 4" stainless round pipe that I split in half then welded in 2" wide strips to make it oval shape, then some wire mesh and fiberglass packing(very thin)...bored a 2 1/2" hole on the side and welded the stock tip on, the patch on the back is from my original outlet which provided a ton of torque but robbed a lot off the top end, the new version is much louder and gives way more HP while also smoothing things out abit....
