Just a couple of photos of the mods over the weekend. Cut off the top of the screen and fitted GSXR mirrors with internal turn signals.

Cheers

Visibility is actually very good....until the 1200cc lump comes to life! Than its all a big blur :D I think thats more due to the mirrors being fitted directly to the plastics. At a cruse speed the clarity does comes back. If i add little metal L plate between original fitting and the new holes it would fix it.

I am considering chopping the whole thing down to a minimum and putting of some high bars any way. So I will just leave it as is

I like the chop, but the mirrors kinda make your bike look like Mickey Mouse lol.
Which is actually pretty cool!!

Hey yea he does look like Mickey Mouse :D haha

I'm still undecided on whether I like it or not......I have a few other things I want to try too

I like the idea of the internal flashers, and I am a big fan of safety (having visible mirrors that you can actually use), but this is too much for me! At least it looks like a clean job... nice work.

I am about to cut down one of my spare fairings and windscreen's, what'd you use to cut it?

If your front pipe black and the rear shiny?

I touched the pipe with my wet weather pants and they stuck to it. When I cleaned the stuff off it looked shiny. I actually like the dull look so I did not want to do the other too.

A hack saw :D no I'm serious...a sharp hack saw with a fine tooth step. I marked the cuts and then masked the line with tape. It was surprisingly easy actually.

Good luck

I did eliminate my stock turn signals by installing mirrors with integrated led turn signals which is very cool idea and cleans the front out. I believe that was your goal... but I don't really see them fit. They seem to be a bit too big for my tastes.

Now if we could fit a flasher inside the stock mirror, I would buy that or do the mod. I am not good at fabricating things, though. I am 30 and I just bought my first Dremel about a month ago.

1125r mirrors might look a little better

+1

If you are into safety I can promise you the 1125R mirrors will not dissapoint. when I ride mine it's like an amber spotlight for god's sake. A for effort though!

Cut looks solid. I would agree though, 1125R mirrors would do wonders for the look of the bike.

Hey thanks boys...you have confirmed what I thought too. The mirrors are too much (too big mainly)

Who can give me pointers on this type of "cut" I would be really keen to do this??

I'd contact no_rice over at buelletinboard.com. That's his bike. I'm not sure if he's on here. He also owns 1125R and 1125CR - maybe he has take off mirrors for sale, I'd ask.

I think it involves cuting the fairing stay back to the 1st hole twoguns trimed his too. Just a idea have you seen a firebolt with a cr front end that looks pretty sick
