Hey i am just trying to get some help and suggestions on my exhaust. Id like it to be a bit louder or have more rumble, but am not sure how i could. its the Jardine RT-1....any ideas?!?!

Take off the silencer on the end if you have one. I actually put the silencer on cause I couldn't hear anything.

i ended up taking most of the batting out, but left around 6 inches longwise in , and it sounds amazing... :) BUT either A: It is in my head that it feels like i lost power from 2-4 and its all at 3.5-7, or i really did loose power from 2-4 and its all at 3.5-7...?!

SO can batting change my power band, or is it in my head?

Cj, ive had the same thing happen to me... since the packin isnt there the there is no more midrange/ back pressure and the surge your feeling is purely the same HP except theres a 'ramp in power' from the gutless [mad] 4grand or so area into the 4.5+ grand. ive you havent noticed already 2nd gear wheelies arent easily accesible anymore than they were before...

Watch out!!!

With no packing the pipe will vibrate to the point of distruction. In about 4-5000 miles you'll see your pop rivits will start to stretch the canister and damage the pipe. I suggest repacking the pipe and keeping your parts in good condition.

Trust me, I learned the hard way.

If anything shorten the pipe but repack it, it'll save you cost of a new pipe.

i will try that, ill report back this weekend, i feel better about that than what i have now.

Whenever you remove the packing from the pipe, you will always lose power.

It's the same as running a gutted out muffler. The airflow pressure is what give you the power you seek.

Not just some cut and go type of ordeal.

This is why those pipes cost so much, not only for the chrome plating, but the intelligence that was put into it's creation.

MY 2¢

Yeah the top of the line Race D&D are what you seek, also if you can find a full micron.

I've seen a couple of those on a buell and man do they sound tough.
