Hey gents,

I was just coming home from work at 11:25pm and noticed the check engine light suddenly illuminated, and the message "F--R AF SYS ERR" came up briefly, and the cluster went back to normal operating mode. i am not sure if this is due to my jardine rt5 slip on, but the stock ecm should be able to adjust to the slipon, seeing as its my only mod. if anybody has any idea about the message, give me a yell. if nothing comes about, im probably going to take it down to brandon harley to have it checked it out. thanks! ride safe,

It means your front and rear Air Fuel value ratios are getting to far apart from one another (ie balance is getting way off). It is due to having the jardine and stock ECM together. The ecm is working to compensate for it, but with the stock maps that only goes so far. Check out Erik Buell Racing and their race ECMs. That will fix that issue and you will like how the bike feels parred with the race ECM and your pipe. I know I do.

i am waiting a little longer to buy the ebr ecm due to a slight lack of disposable income at the moment. is it okay to ride the bike as is, with the light on? please advise.

I would avoid buying the EBR ECM and just tune it yourself. I run a small business that helps people get custom tunes for their bikes. I'm just about finished with my recent round of clients, so if you're interested in my services, feel free to shoot me a PM.
