Has anyone had their clock stop keeping the right time and trip computer stop keeping your trip mileage? Is there just a watch battery in there?

did this happen to you? maybe your battery is goin' tits up[confused](havent heard anything about a watch battery) good luck

Yeah it's been happening to my bike for a while. There has to be some kind of internal battery in the gauge cluster I would think. It's funny it started happening after I tweaked my fuel maps and did a tps reset. But I doubt that would have anything to do with it.[confused]

It might my neutral light stayed on all the time until my TPS was reset. Can you find any kind of battery access?

I haven't taken the module off to check. I've just been dealing with it, but now I'm sick of it and want it fixed. I can set the clock and it will keep time as long as the bike is on. But when I shut the bike off the time gets screwed up as well as the trip computer.

I was inside my cluster last year and don't recall seeing a battery.

The cluster needs a +12v constant power to keep the clock/trip-o-meter. Pull the cable off the back of the cluster, check the voltage at pin #2 (red wire) You should have about 12v. Verify that you have a good ground as well, check the resistance of pin 13 (black) to the negative term on the battery. You should have less than an ohm or two.

It's been a while back, but someone had this exact problem. Pretty sure it was just grounding problem to the instrument cluster.

My time and trips kept resetting on start up when I had a failing battery. With the new battery it all works as normal. Does your bike hesitate to start up?
