You're welcome. Just trying to help out. The one on my 04 rim is pretty faded.
If you wanted to avoid all of that it would have been simple. Instead of saying that's great for wheels that have one say something useful like "yea I saw that in the manual. When I tried to change mine I couldn't find a dot anywhere." When you respond with a negative comment like that without any context I'm only left with assuming you didn't really look. I really don't know why you seem so hostile. The information I posted is good.

The sun finally came out today and I was able to get a feel for my "hamfisted" balance job. Took the bike up 120mph and the rear felt perfectly stable.
I will use all the precision I have at my disposal to make sure I correctly balance the front. I know the balance of the front will be critical compared to the rear. At that time I'll use whatever balancing stand I invest in to check the balance of the rear tire.
I'll update in about 2k miles or so. I think that's about what I have left on the front.

I have always used ceramic Dyna-beads on all my bikes (or you can get the similar "media" on ebay inexpensively these days, not sure of the durability though) I hate the tacky look of stick-on weights and of course the expense tire shops charge now.
I've never experienced anything but a perfect, glassy smooth active balance for the life of the tires. They're easy to insert, really.. just go slow and feather them in with the tube and bottle that comes with the kit.. also flick the stem while they're rolling in, so it doesn't back-up with them. You can also reclaim them and dump them in when you have your new tires mounted.
I bought a kit 7 years ago and am still using them to this day

7years on one kit! Wow! I might test em out on the front.
I've shyed away from the beads after a friend of mine had a terrible time getting them installed. But from what you just described I'm sure he was rushing the process.
