So I put some new pilot 3s on the ol girl and on the rear tire is a huge line of weights all on the right side. Like 10+ weights. It only had 2 or 3 before. Is this normal? I feel like I got a bad tire, shop is saying it's the rim, but like I said it only had a couple of weights before. Any insight or guidance kind Bueller's?

Seems like a lot. If i were mounting it, I'd probably reset it and try again. But for me, I use Dynabeads...No need for unsightly weights at all! :D

X2 for Dynabeads. Smooth ride all the time... And, makes the wheel look better with no weights on it.

This past set of tires I put no form of balancing weights or beads, just had the tires mounted, and I've noticed no difference in balance/vibration. I've had the bike up near it's top speed a couple times since then and it seems stable.

Might be luck of the draw on the tires. I had a tire mounted previously that I could literally see with my naked eye it was not perfectly round. They mounted and balanced it and it rode fine.

Rotate the tire on the rim 180 and re-balance..

I use balancing media FTW!(aka dynabeads).. no ugly weights & they dynamically balance the rotational mass for the life of the tire
