Have to get new tires this week. So I'm looking for some recommendations. On the weekends I like to take some back roads and do some aggressive riding. But I also do a lot of just riding to work. My last set of tires (Metzlers) only last 2k miles, and were worn bad down the center (tire inflation issue I believe) What do you recommend. Planing to go to Motorcycle superstore since Ive heard that they mount and Balance Military for free. Thanks

I've been using BT-016's for the last couple of years, they wear pretty good. 7k + miles out of a rear when commuting on an 1125 is pretty decent to me. They have an upgraded tire to that now, BT-S20.

What I've been running.

This is the one I'll be going to on the next change. Supposed to last even longer, we'll see.

Motosport.com has good prices on front & rear combos. Had 8400 miles on the stock pirelli rear before seeing the cord break through. Very happy with RP2 Michelin tires have 9500 miles on a set and just about down to the wear bars.

I got right at 16k miles out of my pilot road 2's...and my riding is similar to yours, mostly commuting back and forth to work with some twisties on the weekends and no track time. Very very happy with them, and so far even happier with the pilot road 3's I have on now (just about 300 miles on these so far).

I am running BT-023's (Sport Touring) on my Busa and just got a set of Conti's for my XB12R. All depends on riding style! I am military also and went with Chapparal-Racing they have had the best tire prices out there that I could find! Just gotta wait a day or 7 and get when they have a tire sale(I've seen them do at least one every month) Just keep in consideration it will cost you a hundred bucks somewhere to get tires mounted if you dont buy from them! Call when you order tires and ask bout a military discount. Good luck, the which tire question has been posted so much you will never get a straight answer!!! EVERYONE likes a different tire!!!

I dont mean to thread jack but it is similar has anyone run the Michelin Power Pures and the Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsas? Im curious to know which people liked better that have run both. Its $45 cheaper to buy the Pirellis so im wondering which one is worth the price tag.

I really like the way my bike feels on Michelin tires. Currently running Power Race(medium compound) that I get from a local team. 40.00 a tire and that includes mount and balance.

I'm at 4000 miles on the front, looks like I'll get another 2000 miles. Just changed the rear at 4500 miles.
