I'm looking to get a new set of tires while some good deals are available but am not sure what to get. I am trying to decide between the Dunlop Sportmax Q2's and the Bridgestone Battleax BT-016's. I've noticed that my stock Pirellis feel a bit squirmy on the track and in the corners. I do a fair amount of all around road riding and also take my bike to the track often. Any recommendations for what to get for my XB12S?

motorcycle-superstore.com is have a sale on their michelin tires. They are 40% off then when you get to the checkout you add a promo code and you get another 10% off. I picked up a Pilot Power for 105 shipped. Cant beat that in my opinion. I have Pirelli tires on my other bike and they also feel a little squirmy but the pilots feel very planted to the road

i agree too with the pilot power got about 1000 miles on mine there awesome and they are the best looking tire too in my opinion

What kind of tread life are you guys seeing out of the pilot powers? I know it all depends on the style of riding just looking for an average.

good questions. I'm wondering about best all around street performance + mileage for the buck.

mine got only about 1000-1500 miles so i cant really say. i'm already starting to get a slight flat spot in the middle but it is the single compound tire. i should have gotten the dual compound with the harder rubber in the midle, im sure it would last alot longer

I can't complain too much I have 7k on my stock tires. They are almost to the wear bar so plenty of tread left to last until next riding season. I figure I can get ~8k out of them before they will be past the wear bar.

Pilots! I think there's a reason why almost every track junkie I know runs Michelin tires!

I run Pilot Pure. GREAT tire.
Here are a couple of pics, 3500 mi. 4 trackdays. No flat spot, even wear and good mileage for me.

Just put the Q2's on, and I love them. I have them on my F4i as well. Great handling tire with unbelievable grip. They are a dual comound tire, so hopefully I wont get the flat spot from the commutes. You can find them on sale everywhere.

Anyone tried the Road 2's? It looks like they will get better mileage out of the tires than the 2CT's. I do alot of commuting so that is why I'm so concerned about how long they will last.

My rear is a standard pilot power and I just got a 2CT that I have to mount this week. I got about 5,000 miles on a Dunlop recently.

I had PP's on my 636 and LOVED them. Lasted a good 5-6k before the wear bar. Commuted 1.5hrs one way and never had a problem. Fast warm up too. Hate the stock Pirellis right now.

Dallas - I'm on the road2's right now, have a little over 3k miles on them and love them! Commute 50+ freeway miles a day all week and get sporty with them on the weekends; they are holding up excellently and showing very little wear. Will be getting the same tires again when these finally wear out.

Just ordered PP 2ct from motorcycle Superstore they were $206 to my door cant wait to have a good set of tires under me again thanks for the heads up! [up]
