Tire Recommendations

Had a nail puncture my Q2 about a week ago(man they are damn good tires!) Anyway, I was able to ride in and got a Pilot Road 2 cause the shop I made it to didnt have Q2 anymore. Oh well I wanted my bike back soon as its my commuter as well. Well so far so good. I have been on some pretty good corners at good speed and have complete confidence in the tire. Now I aint pulling any Ben Spies leans but I havent felt any slips when leaning. If anything the only thing i notice, its probably just me, is that at about 5000rpm with the Q2 I am able to do 80. With the Road 2, I am at about 77 to 78. I figure its a smaller diameter to the dunlops. What say you guys out there?

Not gonna rule it out, profiles and inflated diameters do change, even in the same brand and model of tire.

I do a 80 mile commute alot on my Firebolt and went to the dual compound Pirelli Angel. It handles great and get much more consistent wear. 24 hr World Record holder. Says so on the sidewall!

I posted about the front tire, I am still convinced, the rear is a good tire, I would NOT put another one on the front of my bike

Decided on the 2CT and went with a new front and rear at the same time. Found the best deal on Motorcycle Superstore which was tax free and shipping was included. Only shop that would mount them in the Nashville area was Bumpus HD in Murfeesboro which ran me just north of $200.

The ride was noticeably different from the Corsa III. Much more focused on the center of the tire but easy enough to get used to. Looking forward to getting out and testing these over the next couple of weeks...

Thanks for the recommendations and insight...

Had a flat this morning and went with the Pirelli Angel ST. Front and rear, it certainly doesnt take turns like the Diablos...true to the tire being not as wide. 120front 190/50 rear, still new,, so that may have something to do with it. Tires look good, handle alright. 80 mile commute so dual compound definetly needed. Diablos only had 4,000 miles and already were flat in the middle of rear! Going flat at 65 is scary as crap..first flat! Then had to make my way across freeway with traffic hauling as! That was the worst part, all ended well.....had to add, mostly freeway driving so not afraid to lean into turns, would go 2 miles iut of my way to hit some curves on 565. I live in Houston and its been HOT!

Pilot pures have been premo.I got 6000k out of them so priddy happy with mileg as well. [cool] KIWI.

currently have a little over 2200 miles on my pilot roads 2s and the wear is great, and on hard braking turns they hold way better than the stock pirellis or the pirellis syncs.

I ride Bridgestone's BT016 and couldn't be happier with them. I don't think Bridgestones get enough pub, just curious why?

Mich. 2ct.'s all the way! I got the 180-I think for the rear, I will never go back. Motorcycle super store 4me, for $140, a few months back.

Evlsqurl, I had the same wear-in time on my Angel. I was kind of unsure about it for the first few miles, but after a few heat cycles, she is very good to me.

I have 4657 miles on my 2009 1125R and needed tires as well. So i went with the michelin pilot road 3. They use a 2 compound technology whuch uses a soft shoulder compound for the outside of the tire for improved cornering, but a harder compound in the middle for higher mileage abilities. I havent yet broken them in, but it feels 100x more responsive. I would highly reccomend the pilot road 3 for anybody who likes to perform, as well as commute. Oh, as for price i got them for $350 installed, front and rear. A great investment in my opinion.

Christianmb...appreciate the input. the tires look good should perform aswell. ATF111, i paid about the same price at Cyclegear here in Houston. Saving some change and still planning on a RT-3 from Mr.Adams....soon i hope. EBR ecm in time aswell.:)

Ran through two paris of the Pirelli Diablo Corsa III's, and was really happy with their handling, feedback, and overall wear. But Pirelli made some changes with their naming conventions, and frankly, I just got irritated trying to track down whatever their comparable latest version would be.

Michellins are the only tires we've used on our cars for almost a decade, so figured it would be worth trying something from them, and the Power Pure set has been a really great choice. Really stable, exceptionally good feedback, plenty of edge grip, but the thing that I was most pleasantly surprised about was the tire shape has a fantastic tip-in for turn initiation.

These tires + Buell = match made in heaven.
