I have a Michelin road on my front right now that came with the bike when I got it, Its not as sticky as my Pilot Power rear.. Im replacing it soon. Every now and then when Im pushing it pretty hard in a turn I will feel that front end slide a bit.. the Road is a pretty good high mileage tire but don't expect Pilot Power levels of adhesion..Riding those in the rain kind of bothers me too... I know Im not getting the best traction and it makes me kind of ride in a state of uneasiness ..

Had a set of Metzler M3's on my bike when I bought it. Seemed pretty good, so I moved up to the M5's when the old set wore down. Even better.

Dunlop Q3 here, LOVE THEM...

it really depends on how you ride and the feel you like.tire profile is a big factor in how the bike feels and handles.some riders may love one tire and hate another because of the profile, one isnt really better than the other it just feels better to that rider.i recommend doing some research

Tire profiles are a huge part of how the tire feels to the rider. As I mentioned before, some tires will have a very pointy profile. This makes the bike feel very willing to lean and gives the rider the sensation of a very quick turn-in . Pointy profiles give the largest contact patch while leaned over. However, pointy profiles make the bike feel skittish and unstable when going straight. Some riders don't like the sensation of a bike that falls into corners.

Other tires have a very round profile. This helps the bike feel much more stable while going straight but doesn't give the bike that flickable feel that pointy profiles have. A round profile, however, allows the rider to set a line in a corner and have that line stay consistent. Once your line is set in, the bike will track predictably along that line (until the rider decides to change it). They provide a very neutral feel. Some riders complain that round tires make the bike feel sluggish and reluctant to turn. Finding what is best for you depends on your riding style, riding ability and personal preference. Remember, that as a tire wears, specifically in the center, your profile is altered and the design of the tire is compromised.

Had Metzler M1's when i got the bike and liked them. great for in the rain. My dad runs metzler's on his valkyrie and loves them. running M3's now. still like them. everyone has there preferance.

i have read alot on here searching for buell tires.....and my current post has provided a wide array of opinions. I will go with the mich pilot road 4 gt for 319 for the pair and I will let you guys know the wear and performance....i had the 3s on my ninja and they were great

Interesting to see the pilot road 4's out now...for the past nearly 30k miles I've run the road 2's (~17k) and road 3's (~12k so far). Was amazed with the road 2's and didn't feel the road 3's were as good (not as grippy, took way longer to warm up), was planning on picking up another set of road 2's when it came time for new tires again. Wonder if the road 4's are better though, would be interested to hear your opinion when you get yours!

Michelin pilot power dual compound. I spend my time on a knee in any corner I can. They are cheap and work great.

The tire topic is like the oil topic. There are many different selections but you have to choose the one you like. I personally ride Michelin Pilot Power 2CT. That tire grips hard and you can get some decent mileage out of it.

I just picked up my 12scg this past fall and it came with Dunlop Q3's. The front was shot and I replaced it with the Michelin I mentioned above. The rear Q3 has plenty of rubber so I am going to use it up then throw a Pilot Power on it. I like the Pilot Power because I fell confident with it and have never had a problem with them for the past 5 years I have used the tire.

since most dong give reasons why or why not ill do my best to provide a good answer for you.
When i had my xb9 i had the metzler road tech z6 on front and back. It is a sport touring tire and worked great for street use. almost no warm up time at all it had instant grip. rain traction was amazing and dry grip was epic. it was a dual compound tire with a hard compound center and a softer outer tread. At the dragon i had no problems getting a knee down wet or dry. life of the tire was great too at 7000 miles on the tire i just started to notice wear in the center of the tire. I ride pretty aggressive hard accell and hard breaking and these tires held up great. On my Ducati 1098 i have bstones bt-003 and hate them. warm up time takes for ever wet traction is shit they are incredibly soft so they wear terrible when warm the tires stick like glue and they are great track tires but for road use they are shit. it takes at least 5 miles to warm them up to the point of feeling like they have any traction at all. if i didn't receive the bike with them on it i would never buy another set. 85% of my riding is on the street and these just aren't street tires. For the Buell and I'm assuming you don't spend much time on the track with it. i Couldn't recommend a sport touring tire more. great tread wear long lasting and great performance. Good thing about tires is it is kinda expensive but it is something you can change. if your location is flat and strait ST tires are the way to go if you do tons of canyon carving and curvy roads then a more sporty tire would be my recommendation. good lock to you and your tire endeavors.

I have Michelin Pilot Power 2CT's on my 2005 XB9SX and they are great tires. Awesome traction in dry and wet conditions and they last a while. I have 7000 miles on them right now and the rear tire has about 1000 miles of tread left on it, but I just got a puncture in the rear tire on my last ride from a small sharp rock so I have to replace it. I picked up a set of the new Dunlop Q3's a few months back when they were having a promotion and the front and rear ended up costing me only $210 for the set. I will be mounting these in the next few weeks for the upcoming season. I have always loved Michelin tires but have heard great things about these new Dunlop Q3's. I don't think you can go wrong with Michelin Pilot's (any of the model line), and I hope the Dunlop's are just as great. Both manufacturers make great tires. The only tires I absolutely hated were the stock HD Dunlops that came on my 2010 Sportster. They were garbage. I replaced them with Shinko 777's and the Shinko tires were awesome for the sportster (turned the sportster into a great handling bike). Shinko makes great cruiser tires but I have heard that their sportbike tires wear out very quickly because they are too soft.

Im making the order for the mich pilot road 4s now....but my dilema is the gt model or not. I never ride 2 up on the bike, nor luggage or added weight.....but i am 220lbs. its only a 10 dollar difference....

Got em on and mounted......weather still sucks
