I'm shopping for new front & back tires live in southern Ontario ride aprox10000 km a season my bike is a 2010 1200scg any suggestions

Depends on what your looking for from a tire. Performance? Longevity? Rain performance? Price?

I've had 2 sets of Michilen Pilot Power 2ct and I think they do very well. The pilot power 3 is the next generation of that tire and is also highly recommended. I get around 5-6k miles from the 2ct but it provides is very good grip and inspires confidence.

The Bridgestone battleaxe is also a good tire for performance.

^^this^^

I'm extremely happy with my Dunlop Sportmax Q3's. I don't recall how many miles I have on them, but it's a lot. I'll be trying the PP-2CT's next. They're lighter than the Q3's so they should allow the bike to turn-in a little easier at speed.

And that have pretty much all good reviews. Only negative I have heard was by people who haven't had the tires and insist they are junk because they are cheap.

I have Conti-Sport Attack II's. Love them. Best tire I've ever had on anything. Won't give you mileage but it's like glue on the road.

I agree with stamen. My 2ct are good. Price is less with all the new models. I plan to stay with tehm as long as they make them and I have my tt.

well I'm was hoping for longevity & performance/good in the rain, dual compound?anyone out there using Perelli Diablo corsa?how do they compare to the scorpions that are on the bike, thanks for the advice

i've been touting the price and service qualities of Smith Family Powersports for years on this site. owned by guy and his wife who are very nice honest folks. probably have the best pricing on the net when it comes to perishables they stock. have dealt with them for several years and can vouch for their products and rapid shipping.

I used to run Michelin 2CT's on both my Buell XB9SX and Triumph Daytona 675. They are great tires with lots of grip in dry and wet, and I get about 7000 miles out of the set unless I do a long distance highway run (then the rear tire gets flattened out quickly).

I put a set of the new Dunlop Q3's on the Buell this past season and I have to say they are even better handling than the Michelins. I did a 2,300 mile ride up to Nova Scotia and back with them and they handled in the rain on the Cabot Trail (one of the twistiest and steepest roads I have ridden) perfectly. So far have about 3,500 miles on them and they are holding up well. I highly reccomend them. You can't go wrong with either the Michelin 2CT's or Dunlop Q3's on a Buell. Never tried the Pirelli's or Continentals so I cannot comment on those.

One more vote for the Dunlop Sportmax Q3. I'll be installing the second set this coming season. They've provided great grip and feedback and lasted 6500km.

Also, they're made in America.

These are my favorite so far, Michelin Power One 2CT

My last 3 were the continental conti-motion, my last one came from the place listed above, I don`t know if I got a reject or monday made tire, but This last one convinced me not to use them any more. It mysteriously loses air, and feels squrrily on turns,I was taken a sharp turn and felt the rear slide out. I have lost some of my confidence because of these tires. I used to love them and the price, and would see lots of miles. I do martian my bike and tire pressures regulary.
if you look on ebay you can find those people selling that tire for 90ish shipped rear

Metzeler M3s came on my bike, and they are a great brand. They are owned by Pirelli and the quality has been top-notch. I have used them and progressed as the tire has. Started out with M3s, then onto M5s, and now have the new M7 RR.

Great in the wet and heat up fast.

I replaced my rear with a Pirelli Diablo Corsa and it caused me my first low side crash. The compound was hard, slippery, slow to warm up and was actually shiny, as if though it had a layer of gloss painted on it. IDK, maybe I got a bad batch, but it was the worst tire ever.

I run Michelin Pilot Power 3 now. Excellent tire, I have nothing but good things to say about it.
