I badly need new tires (well at least a rear) for a Buell 06 XBSs. I was wondering if anyone has another set/brand that they would recomend?

Thanks for any help!!!

Did the '06 come with Dunlops [down]or the Pirelli Diablo [up]. I've heard many say that the Diablos are definitely an improvement over the Dunlops and I know they are beyond my capabilities as a rider, at least for now.

What kinda of riding do you generally do? Slab? Twisties?

I've had a Bridgestone BT021 on my Uly for the last 3000 miles and I like it a lot. Seems to be wearing better than the D202 I only got 5000 total miles out of.

I have the 06 Buell XBSs too and with 3000 miles on the rear, it needs replaced. I bought a Dunlop Qualifier for the rear and will be leaving the stock D208 on the front. I figure that when the front and this rear go (hopefully another 3000 miles), I'll put the BT021's on as a pair.

It came with Dunlops..which I was not very impressed with (not that they were bad, just not very impressive) I ride mostly slabs. In a couple weeks I will be at the track for the first time....I cannot wait!!!!!

I know a couple guys with the Diablo's that love them, I look at the others suggested though.

Thanks everyone!!!!

I have the Diablos on my 07 XB12Ss and spent some track time on XB12R with them and can't say enough good things about them, but I only have 700 miles on my bike so tread wear has not come into play yet.

I was thinking about it and was wondering if anyone knew of any cheap places to pick up tires....website etc.

If its a physical store I'm in Michigan.....

Thanks again!

Diablos here too.

2k on the front, wear is nominal. also i replaced the rear 400 ago due to the fact that rubber and spiky metal objects do not mix.

i'm sticking with the Pirelli for now.

bbrady how many bike shops near/around you? call'em up!

if you're truly lucky you live near a Buell friendly H-D dealer... and they have a tire in stock... and you won't have to sell your kidney to have them put on.

:( UGH! F*&#@ING DUNLOPS! :(

I had them dunlops on my '03XB9S.
AND I HATED THEM!
The front tire would cup SOOOO bad!
Had the last one @ a constant 38psi.
Damned thing still did it.

Finally timed it so that both front and back needed replacing
@ the same time that is.
Switched out for Metzler M1's.
Never been happier!

And the ride! The ride those tire give!
Stick like HELL!!! And hell's what I'm chasin'!!!
Loving it! Every damned minute!!

Almost went w/the M3's/Dual Compound.
My friends were back and forth.
Decided to step up to the M1's to try 'em out.
Glad I did. Traded the back @ 3500, fronts over 5k....

I've also heard good things about Michellen Pilots.
Got several buds runnin' them and they're all happy.
So I may try them out here shortly.
As happy is a state I like to visit regularly.

I'm pretty happy w/what I've got goin' now.
I mean, I'm finally 100% chicken-stripless!
Using all that rubber's not just good for the mileage.
IT'S GOOD FOR THE SOUL!!!

The motorcycle is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
It maketh me burnout on black pavements;
It leadeth me beside busy freeways;
It restoreth my soul;
It leads me in the path of quickness for its names sake.
Yea I walk through the valley of rice,
I shall fear no turbo,
for Torque art with me;
Thy clutch and thy throttle they comfort me.
Thou preparest a Track for me in the presense of mine enemies;
Thou hast anointed my engine with oil;
My bike overpowers.
Surely traction and victory shall follow me,
All the days of my life,
And I shall dwell in the house of the CC's, Forever.
Amen

Can't take credit.
I stole it.
But I'm evil like that!

I live in Lapeer...but work in Auburn Hills/Ponticrack which is where I do most of my riding.

My original (XB 9Sx) come with Pirelli N-Sync
Now I using Pirelli Diablo Corsa III and it's Very, very good

I just put a set of Michelin Pro Pilots on my 03 9R and am extremly satisfied with them. They stick like crazy and seem to wear nicely for a softer compound tire.

m3s for my bike they are very sticky tire unlike the 208 slip and slides. The m3s make the bike handle and ride very good they stick and heat up quickly.
