just a quick poll. How many out there listen to their IPod while riding. On my way to work today cruising along out on a backroad I was thinking it would be nice to listen while riding. Previously, I would have said no, but the exhaust on my bike (Dean Adams custom) sounds sweet and loud. Even without the IPod I wouldn't be able to hear anything else anyway, so why not. Bike sounds good, but a little background music would add to the experience. So what says ye?

Not an iPod but I do listen to music (Galaxy Note II). I have a Pyle AAA amp (from Amazon), Koss volume control (Amazon) and a four pole splitter that lets me use a mic (Android) and control the music. All the music is going through Tork XPro speakers. Sounds like a lot, but it really isn't. The set up works great. I highly recommend all the components because it sounds great. Really clear and loud enough to hear over my Hawk.

I do. with a bluetooth system in your helmet it sounds great! I prefer sena smh10. I used to never do it, but its not loud to the point where it drowns out all the other noises. I can still hear and feel my bike, I can hear tire squeals, horns, my buddies downshifting and accelerating. but none of it drowns out the music either. But now I love it and if I'm riding for more than a half hour, Ill play some tunes.

too loud to have a phone conversation though

I don't have that problem, but then again it depends on the helmet. I have a shoei rf1200 so its designed to be one of the quietest helmets out there. I talk to customers while I'm riding all the time lol. Im like "oh yea stuck on a job..." not

Lol, with my oneal I can hear people but they cant seem to hear me very well. Love the helmet though specially the built in shaded visor.

okay, I tried the IPod on the way home. I have a very snug (but not too tight) Icon Variant helmet. I only have ear buds for the IPod and the helmet going on kinda pulls them out of my ears. Anyway I can hear the music at stop lights, but I can't hear anything but the sweet music of Deans exhaust at anything over 2000 rpm, so yeah, it works for me. LOL [cool][cool]

I do too: RF-1100 with Sena SMH10 Bluetooth connected to iPhone.

Tried the iPod with ear buds. No joy. Either I would forget about them until I was on the road or they would slip a little and become uncomfortable.

they just came out with an update for them too, it fixes wind noise and increases the volume in the speakers.

[up]

I applied that firmware update last week. Seems to help a lot.

Been looking at the SMH10R. Like the low profile, but I would lose the jog dial.
