Riding season is starting again, so lets get started the right way. First off, I'd like to say to all the newer people on the forums... WEAR YOUR FREAKIN LEATHERS!!!

The way I see it is you can spend your money on one of two things, cool looking gear, or a hospital bill. One of those things involves a lot less pain than the other.

I decided this year that I'd get myself some really good leg protection, so I bought some Dainese Summer pants AND some Alpinestars Leather pants. But out of both of these options, I don't have knee pucks :( Track pants are expensive!

So out of the people who do wear leg protection, who wears pucks and who doesn't?

For those cheap bastards who don't want to buy pants, you should really looking into some protection. Here is a cheap $80 option that can save you some skin.

These of coarse don't compare to leathers, but for $80, you cant get any better. If you want more protection, but you you don't have a lot of cash, I suggest Craigslist. That's where I got my leathers.

Teknic... its a 2pc suit... I purposely bought them for the track and do use them (at the track). The only reason I ride on the street with them is just because they are already on the pants that's all. I don't ride hard enough on the street to use them. Lately I've just been trying to make it a habit to wear the pants. I figure its just more material between me and the road is all.

One piece Dainese. I NEVER go out without my full leathers. Eight years of racing 3 amateur,5 pro and 2 Canadian 125GP championships told me everything I need to know.
Fastest crash, about 60mph tucked the front end, slid forever, dusted myself off and walked away. Try that in cool looking shorts and running shoes.
