Thinking of ripping off my turn signals front and back. I still haven't chopped off the cheese grater but figure this will get me one step closer.

Just wanted to get thoughts on the aesthetic of losing them and also even though I have basically stopped using them 2 months into riding my first motorcylce I was thinking someone with more experience might recommend I keep them...

I have micro signals that look and work great. You can barely see them when not lit. But I wouldn't loose signals all together. In my state its legal to only use hand signals, but I still use the lights. I'm all about improving the asthetics of my bike...but not at the risk of my own body. I don't need to give some soccer mom the excuse to just plow right into me.

I would have to agree. My signals will stay, but I have been thinking of tossing my mirrors, i always shoulder check anyway. I only use them to see if there is a cop behind me every once ina while:p

And my excuse if i get pulled over will be- "But officer some old guy backed into my bike and snapped my mirrors im on my way RIGHT NOW to get more" :p Think that would work?...lol

on the front and back? pics?

but I have been thinking of tossing my mirrors

i guess i'm just not skilled enough yet but turning for me still feels a little sketchy other than a quick glance esp. highway style.

front and back. dont have pics uploaded yet of close up front and back. but i get compliments all the time on how hidden, yet bright these little guys are.

I ditched my mirrors when I rode my R6. I thought about doing it for the Buell too...but got third eye bicycle mirrors and shoved them into my bars. They look great too I think

wow, i can't even see them from this picture. do you have a link to where you got 'em? i'd love to see the up close when you take them.

i did the same with my mirrors, third eye bar ends, cheap but look and function great!

so they are super tiny, about 3 inches by less than one inch.. pretty cool.. 100 bucks, might have to do it.

although, if i'm gonna shave off the fender than it would be a waste of 50 bucks i guess..

hmmm, decisions decisions.

I like the rear signals, I just wish the inside lense was blue to match my color scheme. Iv been on the lookout for an insert. Seems it should be pretty easy, just change the orange inner lense for your color of choice. Other than there are no other choices...[down]

Thaloc If you find any Blue Lenses of any kind I wann know where you got them. I also like the Micro turners.

Not quite...but super easy. They dont come with the male/female connectors. All you have to do is splice it into the existing wiring scheme, tighten the bolts into existing blinker holes and you're off. They do blink slightly faster, but really not by enough to warrant a regulator.

And even if you do chop the back, the blinkers are not wasted. You could cut around that part, or drill new holes closer up toward the tail lens. Thats what I'm thinking of doing.

I don't know what state you live in, but I would advise you check your laws very extensively. In South Carolina, as well as many other states, if you put any lights that even come close to a blue hue, you could run into trouble...especially a light that flashes. Some officers see that as impersonating an emergency vehicle...and that generally carries a pretty hefty fine.

If it helps with the decision at all, I removed the amber lens completely and got some "hyperwhite" replacement bulbs...the clear lens' look good with the color scheme and they are much brighter than stock. I have white plastics too, by the way, just no blue.

If you decide to push your luck with the blue lenses, hit up a craft shop and look for the colored plastic that is see through, see where I'm going with this? We used that junk in art class in High School and it just came back to me...Hope I've been of some assistance in your search.

Well just to let ya know Thaloc, when I'm at work there are a few sayings that get thrown around, NCO's are supposed to be "there for the soldiers" Most of my NCO's aren't and the won't send me to the Promotion Board. So I make it a point to let people know that when I'M at work I'M actually THERE FOR THE SOLDIERS.

But on here, I'm here for the Buellers.

Hope your search goes well.

Another thing if you can't find the paper stuff look online at a military surplus site or here for the flashlights that look like an upside down L they come with 3-4 lenses, clear, red, BLUE, and Green. Not sure if that blue lense would be too dark or not though. Also, if they look like they won't be too dark then look around the site and other places and see if they just have the lense replacement kit...You would probably need at least 2 lenses to make it work, cut to shape and what not.
