Took off primary cover and now i cant shift

So I laid my bike down and scratched up the primary cover and tore off my shifter. I ordered the parts from the dealer. I replaced the cover but i am having serious problems getting the bike into neutral. I've tried adjusting the clutch release mechanism like the service manual says. When I pull the clutch it looks like it's working. It's an 09 xb12r. Any ideas?

Just a wild guess but is the shift shaft bent? If the bushings in the cover and inner crank case don't match up perfectly it won't shift properly. Good luck, Wayne

I opened the inspection cover and looked in. The shaft looks straight. When i try to shift it has a peg in what looks like the shifter shaft assembly preventing it from moving all the way up.

Fixed it! The Shifter Shaft Assembly was moved out of place. Nothing needle nosed pliers couldnt fix.
