TPS RESET PROBLEM!!!

I just got everything hooked up and attempted a TPS reset. Got it down to 0.0 and hit the RESET TPS button. Started winding the screw up and nothing. Stays at 0.0. What do I do? Did I completely mess this up?
 
Be sure the butterfly valve is fully closed when resetting. May have to pull off the outer/inner airbox covers so you can see it to verify.
 
after you hit tps reset you need to go online again with ecm spy. at least on mine anyway whenever i hit tps reset it will go offline. when its offline nothing will update itself
 
I think I got it. So when the bike is running and TPS should read around 5.1 at idle?

They say set it to 5.2-5.5° but they set the % to 5.5. Then at the end no info on how to set idle. I need to raise mine because it is in the mid-high 900s.

I performed the procedure several times back to back and the first or second time throttle response was instant but every other time including now it stumbles a bit with a quick twist and puffs a bit of black smoke during the stumble that is barely noticeable.

I can't get it back to how it was when it had instant response and rev'd smoothly.

The reason I did the tps reset was because I have a stumble or so around 5-5.5k rpm and it just doesn't sound right and feels kinda slow...

05 cityx with hawk muffler and k&n stock tune. ecm spy tells me the racemap I have that I got from the previous owner isn't compatible... Anyone want to email me one? :)
 
Friction you need to have a race ecm with your mods. You can get one through EBR or by flashing a race fuel/timing map to your stock ecm.
 
Yea, I know. I tried to flash the race map but I don't know how to apparently...

You can't just burn the race eeprom to a stock ecm. You will need to copy the timing and fuel maps only and paste them into your stock eeprom.
 
I'm not really sure. Try using these steps:

1. Open up ecmspy with race map
2. Open up another window of ecmspy by clicking on the shortcut and open your current map
3. Copy rear fuel map from race map by using Ctrl+C
4. Paste into stock eeprom using Ctrl+V
5. Use steps 3-4 to do the front fuel as well as both front and rear timing
6. VERY IMPORTANT - Make sure to change your rpm headers to the same thing as the race map. If you don't your bike will run like crap. If you plan on doing some data logging and changing the maps then dont worry about the row headers.

I can't really answer why they did that. I made the mistake of putting my idle at 5.5% the first time I did the reset and it didn't idle at all. But the book says 5.2-5.9 degrees so as long as you stay in that window you should be just fine. By setting the TPS to the 5.2-5.9 you are setting the idle...just letting the computer know where to start adjusting the fuel/air.
 
Ok, cool. I just wasn't sure which was right. What they said or what they did. 5.5% yielded 4.8° so 5.2-5.9° would probably put my idle where it should be. Thanks for the help!!
