I am very new to all this so I apologize if this is a silly question. I followed the instructions to a T on the ecmspy site for the TPS reset for my '06 XB9SX. It went to zero and reset w/no problems. When I try to turn the adjuster up to the 5.1%, nothing happens. I checked, and the adjuster is screwed into the holder properly under the airbox and moves freely when turned. There are no changes in the numbers on the computer when I turn it. What am I doing wrong? Please help me so I can ride!

Welcome to the Forum Brenda. I've had this same problem, just trying to remember what it was exactly that I had done to fix it.

Geesh, I kept playing with it, sorry can't remember exactly what I had done to get it to work [confused]

I am sure someone will come along with a more definite response.

Got it working from another forum, got to press the "keys" icon to get live data. WHOOOO-hoooo!! I swear it is the simple things that get me.

ECMSPY disconnects from the ECM after performing certain tasks or when switching between function screens. Look at the keys icon near the upper left area of the screen. Click it to reconnect ECMPY.

You can verify that ECMSPY is connected and talking to your ECM by doing the following: While looking at the "Overview" screen, observe the TPS information while twisting your throttle a few times. You should see the TPS [Degrees], [%] and [Volts] fluctuate with throttle movement.

Just a quick question, but thought I'd ask since you mentioned that you're new to ECMSPY... When you backed out your idle adjustment for your TPS reset, did you go out past the point where it read "zero" and snap the throttle a few times to make sure the throttle plate was absolutely, positively closed? I usually verify this by watching the TPS [Degree] info previously mentioned while backing out the idle adjustment. When it stops decreasing, that usually means the throttle plate is closed completely, but it can "hang" sometimes, so I open and let the throttle snap shut a few times while slowly backing out the idle a little bit more. Sometimes I'll get another degree of throttle closure by doing this and ensure an accurate TPS reset.
