Trade shocks? My SCG for your S/R...

Maybe someone here can help... does anyone know if the spring rates are the same between an XB12SCG and an XB9SX?

Email sent with info, this would help me greatly as I am in the process of building a Drag styled Buell. Ss swing arm Scg susp. and Scg tail on my R.

What is the difference in the Ss swing arm over the stock R swing arm? I asumed they all were the same.[confused]

2" longer is the difference. Frame is bigger as well if your curious.

I love my Ss and I'm 6'1.

You are correct only a 2" difference. It takes some mods but can transplanted to a S/R frame.

What do you mean the frame is bigger? I might have to look for an Ss swing arm now. What are the mods needed to mount it on the R frame?[confused]

The frame and swingarm were designed for a larger rider. I believe 06 was the first year for the model.

The frame holds more gas and is wider, taller and is overall a bit beefer.

Dunno about the mod to switch.

Is there a difference if mine is an 08 12R? I know they made some changes for 08, but I dont know what all. I would really like another 2" on my swing arm.

The frame holds more gas because they did away with the "snorkel" hole that was there originally. (As seen in the pic)

Also I was thinking frames were the same and the swingarms were different. Lefox explains at the bottom of this thread: Swingarm Differences

The Ss holds more fuel than the standard S as well. Just to clarify.

I based this on my brothers 06 XB12R to my Xb12Ss. Clearly different sizes and I think the S and the R are the same.

Ss frame holds 4.4 gallons and the S holds 3.8 gallons. My bike being an 03 only holds 3.3 gallons with the intake snorkel.

As far as mods to fit the Ss swingarm, all oil and brake lines need to be extended, Ss belt is needed, and a Ss shock or some type of extension barcket to retain the ride height.

I am going to try for the lower look so I will have to see what all I will need to do that once I get into it, but I know the Scg shock will only aid me in the lowering process.

Please keep me updated on your progress. This is exactly what I am after with my bike. I like the slightly extended and lowered look as well.
