I am looking for a pair of black forks and its not worth the price to powdercoat and put new seals in mine afterwards. I have a 2004 xb12s and the forks are in great shape. The seals are in great shape they do not leak whatsoever and the forks show no damage at all. If there is any interest pm me and we can try and work out a deal.

Powder coating is pretty cheap. Im not sure if you already checked prices but i have a powder coater that will do a set of forks black for $40. There is no blasting required and black is the most common color. You might have to call a few places but you will find a cheap place. Try to find a guy who has his own oven and has EXP so he is not bound to some corporate vultures, good luck.

Plus the 04 has the small tubes and u would have to change the tree to get the later model stuff to work. Something else to think about.

cheapest i found around me was $225 for forks plus new seals afterwards. maybe i don't know the right people but there doesn't seem to be many people that powdercoat

Google powdercoat plus the name of your city

google(Powdercoat "cityname" ) You will be surprised. There are always some mexicans that will do it cheaper but my guy will do it for $50. In ST Louis you can get **** sanded and powdercoated in a single coat color like black for $50. A set of wheels $50, with sandblasting. What city do you live in? Youy need to find a guy with his own equipment because he will be willing to work with you. So what city do you live in?
